  • Join me at this important conservation site along the Swale Estuary. Witness the prehistoric-looking spoonbill in action as it sweeps its unique bill side-to-side to catch fish. Yes, we came to Oare by accident, but we were rewarded for the long drive.
→ Discover bird diversity worth protecting at Oare Marshes Reserve
→ Located along the Swale Estuary managed mudflats and marshes
→ See spoonbills sweep specialized beak side to side when catching fish
🦅 Must-see footage of some of Kent's most prized winged residents in their natural habitat.

You picked the worse weather for your visit. I've had some great days in November when the winds have been gentler. Bearded Tits all over the reserve but especially in the corner by the sluice. BTW, there's a great cafe in Oare village by the creek.

Good tip that! Never had much luck with the beardies there myself but seen some great shots from others! Have you ever seen the eels by the sluice????

Frustrating when it’s closed for weddings isn’t it! But fair enough, that’s where the ££££ is for them…

I had a swivel camera strap that pulled through, fortunately my hand was on the tripod grip 🤷🏼‍♂️ worth checking very regularly

Nightmare. Most of the time use the safety loop too but I’m guilty of forgetting sometimes. Good reminder !

Chris. What would be the ultimate bird for you to capture on film?

is that tan adaptor you added on a teleconverter or are you adapting an EF lens to the RF mount? great content by the way.

It’s just a 1.4 teleconverter! I did have the EF 400- but along with all of my kit it got stolen last year, bit the bullet and upgraded to the RF (exactly the same to my eye just light ). Thanks a lot !
