This place very nostalgia for old timer police man, very near to police HQ, CID and police hostel. Maybe next time can explore the surroundings. There is a reservoir at the top of the pearls hill, legend has it only supply to Oxley rise. Remember seeing Gurkha guarding the reservoir. Hong ex PO you should know the place well. Maybe police regulars will know the place better due to courses attended there.

I ate the penang laksa, spicy and the cockles are big and fresh. I want to eat again.

To me duck rice is not so much about the duck meat, it is a combination of yam rice, gravy, chilli and soup as a package. And for the duck meat, I aimed for the skin more than the meat, sibeh unhealthy type. Yong Tau Foo is like the famous food there, quite a few stalls. Bak Kwa also, but only during CNY period you can see long queues. I've never walked up to the stores on top, thanks for enlightening me, but I think I've nothing to buy there. Two things most funny this episode _ the mannequin’s buay song face and Jie Jie's chanting of "hum hum hum".

I know condos and malls are pretty and nice to look at but I hope these classic places are preserved.

The hawker centre is famous for old uncles drinking and flirting with their foreign girlfriends and beer ladies. The hawkers complained these uncles also bring their own food to the hawker centre. The Bak Kwa stall facing outside is actually very good. Better than the famous brands in Chinatown. KNN I didn’t know See Hum is so expensive now. $12 for a small plate? Next time just eat at home 😉

You should try 永祥興豆腐. its the pioneer of 酿豆腐. its legendary.. 50 +years history and only open for 3 hours every day!!
