I’m watching from England and usually on a Saturday. I often feel as if I am there taking in the bright sunshine and warmth. You can tell it’s my way of being connected with the culture, the food and the ‘Jalan jalan’ and look-see, look-see aspect of a relaxed weekend preoccupation. I went home to Singapore in August and unfortunately did not have a chance to go ‘gai-gai’ and now through your channel I probably can see more than I could in person! Thank you very much for these well researched episodes which keep us (people living overseas) all feel so engaged and at home. Thanks to Jie-jie for such good camera work! Keep up the super duper work!😊❤😮

thanks ah hong n jiejie for sharing interesting shops n their 心酸 + stories , always nice to know interesting things the store owners sell, even nt popular/common, they still sell unique things❤😢😅😊
Its been several years since I last visited army market. Even though i was nearby it recently, i didnt make the time to visit. From outside it looked rather dead (but maybe because i went on a weekday rather than weekend when the boys booked out from tekong and visit it for pre-fieldcamp prep). Didnt know it has changed a lot and i did recall the whole level has many shops dealing with military stuff. Shall find another time to visit it. Thanks for this video today. Always looking forward to the release every saturday. :)
Thanks for being a wonderful MC for my company's dinner and dance event. Been watching your channel for almost a year and every episode. Keep up the wonderful work and vibe!
indeed this 'Beach Road Army Market' had its heyday ! the stores you all visited seems so interesting ..hopefully more people can see this video and go there to support the businesses :) will be great if this place can develop to a prominent themed venue for interesting antiques & vintage collectibles, crafts etc and of course timeless army stuff ;p
Yeah, last time weekends super duper crowded. To sew the rank and name tag, have to wait for hours... crazy back then. IIRC, there's a store at the basement selling nice 锅贴 (fried dumplings), but that was donkey years ago. I got to drop by some day to check out the gear AND THE FOOD!
This food centre has many many nice food stalls, I like the Hokkien Mee and the Chicken Rice at the basement (they are side-by-side) and the Zichar at upper level (corner stall, near to toilet). Army Market died off mainly cos of eMart introduced by SAF since army boys can get free credits to buy items that they need. Was there a few years ago and nothing caught my attention. I will visit for the food though.

There is a Beef Noodle at the basement in the midst of all the Halal stalls. My Favorite beef noodle. They use to be from the Original Long House, as in the old Jalan Bersah Stadium. Not the Thomson area Long House.
😥Really change alot.Alot of people buy online or at emart.Alot army thing they can't sell also that why.But maybe weekend more crowd when all shop open. But soon or later end of army market😥
But I rmb they got some useful items like shoes that look permanently polished, which can’t be found in regular emart. Can’t rmb the exact details, but I remember they got some secret items that are quite useful one 😹
Finally! A new episode. Without Hong, my life is bored
