Frankly I wouldn’t consider the lap times valid especially watching your key point observations. Using auto transmission, slow start ( was driver given laps to acclimate to the car ? ) sure looks like he was not. All of it are valid observations. I really don’t care if the car is sub 7 minutes but your observations are obvious watching the video.

Misha please don’t drive one of these they are very very unsafe. Behind those massive brake calipers are only a single piston and tiny brake pad. Typically Chinese engineering. There are videos of a massive crash and inspection of the brakes. Totally inadequate.

Misha, I myself as a big BMW fan HATE the current BMW design language direction. It is very unBMW as previously have designed beautiful cars except the E81, E90, E60 and so one model range which have grown on me. But the over sized grills are hideously ugly and still to this day my wife and I point them out for how unBMW they are! I know this video is about Jaguar, but you mentioned BMW and I couldn't resist my reaction.

Apparently Ratan Tata the fifth generation of Tata family just died in october. That would imply that the ownership of the family businesses have just recently changed hands to a younger generation. It is quite obvious that the current owner has no interest nor knowledge of cars or motorsports. She probably didn't even want the company in the first place; so Jaguar might be up for sale. At this rate I give them less than five years and they will want to sell Jaguar for pretty much any price.

Honestly, nobody really bought jaguars anymore. All enthusiasts can really miss here is the f type, and that alone is not going to carry the brand. But yes, I’m sad they really seem to kill their history too (for now at least, I mean they never made a statement about what they will actually do in the future, it’s just teasers and one video that seems like some kind of art show). But when you need to be in everybody’s mind again, you need to literally make people upset it seems. It worked somehow, I mean they’re EVERYWHERE now on social media. It’s absolutely crazy to see the difference in interest in jaguar between now and two weeks ago. Even if it’s not good interest. What’s going to happen now is of course not clear, and going full EV is most likely not the answer, but I’m actually looking forward to a change. And they have to, looking at what their government wants. I just hope I’m not disappointed and they will additionally create something that can be engaging to drive and performance luxury oriented (not with the next model of course, that’s clearly going to be some kind of big heavy Bentley like sedan).

Not so amaized. Take old car body, throw in some modern gatgets here and there. Then reveal as something new, mnaah. Yes, may be nice driving but result is not so good as could be done as independent small car manufacturer.

What is says about them is they think Jaguar's target demographic needs to pivot from wealthy older men to wealthy younger everyone. I think it's fair to say that their cars are no longer attractive to the jjjjaaaggg man that we can all visualise, or people who aspire to be that guy. And maybe that guy isn't representative of middle management the way he would have been in the past. So fair enough, the target demographic and the ability to target it with new emissions regs are both dwindling. Now there are a ton of young professionals that aren't so young anymore, and have been exposed to what looks like this ad in their corporate training. In my company you are not allowed to show someone who looks like me in a position of authority over someone from this ad in stock photos for corporate training, for example. It's written in the policy. I'm very used to imagery like this. I bite my tongue because it's not really worth moaning about and I dislike racists more than I dislike woke. The problem is this new person that they think exists in large numbers isn't a real person at all. What Jaguar are not getting here is that 99% of people will go along with this kind of bollocks at work but have absolutely zero emotional investment in it in their personal lives. There are a few dickheads that live and breath this stuff but they truly are in the minority, and they absolutely don't spend their money on cars. This ad is for an imaginary customer base.
