Nordic Watch Channel
Финляндия
Добавлен 19 апр 2019
Welcome to the Nordic Watch Channel (previously Anders from Finland). This is my RUclips channel which is all about collecting watches! I'm Anders from Finland, a student watch-nut in my late 20's. I make any kind of watch-related content that I can come up with. I mostly cover affordable automatic watches, such as Seiko (a lot of Seiko 5 watches), Orient, Casio, Citizen and the likes. My goal is to help fellow watch enthusiasts, whether newcomer or seasoned veteran. I post videos such as watch reviews, watch unboxing videos, strap inspiration, state of the collection videos along with DIY tips and tricks.
I've been getting more involved in collecting watches since 2017. The vast majority of watches I've had are automatic and mostly Japanese (Seiko). Since I'm still a student, the watches I focus on at the moment are mostly watches in the affordable price-range.

Orient Mako 40 mm Review - RA-AC0Q01B
Welcome to this review of the relatively new Orient Mako 40 RA-AC0Q01B, finally a Orient Mako dive styled model that is only 40 mm in diameter, as opposed to the larger Orient Mako, Ray and Kamasu models! In this review you will see the Orient Mako 40mm on several different strap options, as well as see a size comparison with a Seiko SKX009, Seiko SPB143 and a Sinn 556A.
For me, this is the best looking dive styled watch I've seen from Orient to this day. Please enjoy the review and let me know what you think!
If you want to help the channel out (commissions): Here are Amazon affiliate links to the watch on the video! Some pretty good deals again!

Seiko SPB143 Review and Strap Alternatives

Seiko SPB143 Review and Strap Alternatives In this video I review the Seiko Prospex SPB143. Released in 2020, this 62MAS homage is still a popular watch on the market. Seiko has released the SPB453 and a few other 62MAS inspired models, which seem to be the replacement to this SPB143, but you can still get this one too. The SPB143 is a very nicely sized certified diver with some great specifica...

Просмотров 3952 месяца назад
Welcome to my review of the Vario Empire Seasons True GMT, specifically the Autumn version with a nice Salmon dial. The Empire Seasons True GMT collection consists of four watches, one for each season of the year. Each of these is a limited edition of either 60 or 90 pieces. The Empire Seasons True GMT is collection is an extension of the Empire lineup, and is likewise heavily inspired by the A...
How to Shorten or Adjust a Metal Watch Bracelet in 5 Minutes!
Просмотров 4,8 тыс.4 месяца назад
In this video tutorial or guide I show you how to shorten or adjust a metal bracelet. The bracelet I demonstrate this on is the Seiko 5 SPRG27 bracelet. This type of metal watch bracelet is the basic "push pin" or "split pin" mechanism, found very commonly on all sorts of watches, for example some (but not all) Seiko, Orient, Certina, Tissot watches or pretty much any other watch manufacturer u...

Seiko 5 SRPG27 Review - The Perfecly Sized "Field Style" Watch! We are back! Welcome to this review of a great Seiko 5 field watch, the SRPG27. This Seiko 5 is one of the most compelling deals on the market still, after years of its first launch. The watch boasts great specifications and a classic design in a great friendly-for-all size. Due to the classic military style looks, the Seiko SRPG27...
CIGA Design Blue Planet Stainless Steel Review
Просмотров 4,4 тыс.Год назад
This time I'm reviewing something that I bet you're not used to seeing on the channel! I got this CIGA Design U Series Blue Planet in for review and I get to keep it. It is quite some thing extraordinary to say the least. This watch model won the GPHG Challenge award in 2021, beating the likes of Doxa and Oris in the process. An innovative design inspired by the sundial, and a meaningful messag...
ORIENT Hidden GEM! Orient Mini Triton Review ( RA-AC0K01B )
Просмотров 22 тыс.Год назад
In this video, I review a model known by many unofficial names, such as the Orient mini Triton, mini Neptune, baby Neptune, baby triton, or the Triton Lite. I’ll refer to it as the Mini Triton. The reference number is RA-AC0K01B10B. It’s by no means a new release but by the time of recording this is still readily available, so I think it’s still a good time to review this under-featured hidden ...
Orient Mako 3 Review With Strap Alternatives! (RA-AA0821S19B)
Просмотров 49 тыс.Год назад
Orient has recently released the Mako 3 in several new color combinations! The watch is virtually the same as the Kamasu, but with a different dial and different colors. I opted for the ivory dialed one with the reference number RA-AA0821S19B. The Kamasu has been one of the best value for money dive watches out on the market for several years. This Mako 3 model is currently a little bit more ex...
Seiko Presage SRPD97 "Japanese Garden" Review & Strap Alternatives
Просмотров 13 тыс.Год назад
Good to be back! A lot has happened the past year and my activity RUclips has been a bit low. Finally I'm able to share my thoughts about this Seiko Presage Japanese Garden SRPD97! This watch is one of the few sub 40 mm Seiko Presage watches, for less than 500 $ or €. With the Seiko Sarb035 and Sarb033 modes becoming more difficult to source, the SPRD97 and SRPD99 (black dial) are a great alter...

JDM Orient Dress Watch Review! Great value for money!
I may actually buy one now. If I do, I’ll use your link. It’s so hard to buy new watches since finding my two perfect models.
It didnt work out for me either way. What should I do
Im late to this vid, but now there is a 3 ring single pass strap out called the Sifustrap. It solves all of the Nato strap problems IMO.
Orient es una de las mejores marcas de reloj con excelente relacion calidad precio
For sure one of the best value for money brands! Especially in the entry-level price range!
Thanks
That's a really nice try of Orient to bring back their skin diver. IMHO they are not there yet but close. I would have loved to see the broad arrow hands on it and I also think a lume pip in the bezel would have been great. The bracelet would anyway be the first thing that goes into the "bin" after purchase ;-) Great review. Keep 'em coming. Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it! Yeah I agree. I really like these hands though, but would also like a lume pip in addition to the tapering bracelet. But at least with this bracelet you’re right, it’s coming off!
Taper to 16mm would be perfect
I so wish that it would taper!! Such a missed opportunity. Spot on package otherwise..
Smart mf, worked perfectly!
Haha glad to hear that mate!
The decision to have untapered bracelet is very weird. I think even most cheap bracelets have at least 2mm of tapering.
Yeah, almost like it’s a stylistic choice or something. Or then it’s just an easy way to save money since you can take an old design and slap it on. I took a look at their sports collection and didn’t really find a tapering 20mm (or 22mm for that matter) bracelet there. It’s been my biggest pet peeve with all Orient sports watches for years. Would be about time to make a tapering bracelet for these.. thanks for your comment!
Awesome review! You really broke down the details well. Looking forward to the next one! 🙋♂️
Thanks mate! Glad to hear that. Next one will probably a dive watch by Citizen!
What the width of the straps you paired it with?
They're 18 mm!
Thanks this saved me this morning
Glad to hear that mate :) My pleasure!
Thank you 🙏
My pleasure!
OMG! Bro this is what you tube is made for!
Oh yes! There's a tutorial on RUclips for everything 8)
This was very helpful! Love the 4th way, it looks so clean!
Thank you! Glad to hear that :)
What is that nice watch on your wrist?
That's a Sinn 556A :)
What is that nice watch on your wrist?
This comment seemed to come in multiple times :D that's a Sinn 556A mate :)
Cannot find this brand on Amazon usa
Yeah I'm pretty sure they don't sell via Amazon. It's a German brand. Check out their website and see if you can find a retailer :) Price maybe 1500 usd or so if you buy brand new.
Need Casio for old eyes. Please help
Hmm.. so with big numbers then? Or maybe a analog model is better?
Not analog but with digital with Big numbers but not too big bezel size. Need one with a square shaped bezel.
I see! Well check out this one for example : Casio W-800H-1AVES. The numbers are a bit bigger than on other ones. Not a bad price either. Appreciate it if you use my affiliate links :)
I read reviews and some say backlight is not good and does not help see time
Thank you!
My pleasure!
I can not find Orient Bambino RA-AP0002S10A anywhere on google. Instead it only shows Orient Bambino RA-AP0002S10B. Is this the same model?
I bought CASIO Royale today, and THANK YOU !!
Awesome! My pleasure mate :)
Thanks. Very helpful.
Awesome! Glad to hear that :)
Thank you!! Worked like a charm!
Awesome to hear! My pleasure!
I really need this, buying a tool just to replace a strap once is not a nice financial decision
True! Even though they can be bought for not a lot of money.. It's just very inconvenient!
I bought mine yesterday, it seemed very dark and not bright like in your video. Only on certain angles I could clearly read the numbers. Changed the battery, same thing. Is this normal for this model?
I would say that it is normal for this one.. It's a clear downside that comes with the otherwise sleek looks..
Hi! Did the original bracelet leave a scratch mark on the watch case? Because for mine it did
Hi! Hmm.. on what part of the case do you mean?
Thanks , Very thorough with all the steps
Thanks for the feedback mate! Glad it helped :)
Thank you, sir!
My pleasure sir!
Thanks. It worked.
Awesome! Glad to help :)
my casio watch doesnt have those indents and dots in the links like in the video :( theyre all super tight and i dont tnhik even using the tools will let them get out. Mine is a fake one as a gift from a friend, is there any way to still adjust it?
Bummer to hear that! Hard to tell since I don't know what kind of bracelet it is.. but poke around and see if anything can be moved..
One issue; what you have is a zulu strap, not a nato. A nato doesn't have the extra piece that controls where the watch can go. A nato strap is a single piece like a bracelet.
Actually both nato and zulu straps can have that. Zulu straps often do not. The difference (to my knowledge) is that zulu straps are made more thick and stiff, and often with thicker and round hardware. Nato straps are more slim with slimmer hardware also. And the strap in the video is a nato strap. Then again, I don’t think that there are any strict definitions in a dictionary. But the differences I mentioned seem to be the commonly used ones.
Good
Thanks mate!
Good job explaining everything
Thanks for the feedback! Appreciate it!
I thought that I was the only one that said take the gloves off.
Haha! Nope, you sure aren't! But you can see the explanation in the earlier comments if you care :D
The balance of colors in this Mojito variant are absolutely perfect. I do not wear gold. I’m sort of a green/brown guy in my clothing options and this watch nails it when it comes to complimenting those colors. The Gold is a bonus that I’m really enjoying and have discovered works very well with the spectrum of colors I prefer to wear. Can’t say enough about the newest size offering. It’s perfect.
hear hear! The Mojito is a stunner too! And yeah, the size is spot on!
The floss trick worked like a charm in no time. This was after 20 minutes of trying unsuccesfully to remove the straps with a newly ordered spring bar tool. Great work! Thank you 😊
Glad to hear that mate! Thanks for the kind feedback, appreciate it! :)
I watched several videos and all were kind of vague what too l to use, even those who had proper equipment. the corkscrew is king. managed to loosen my t links finally!
Awesome to hear that mate! The corkscrew works wonders!
Thank you
You're welcome!
Thanks for this video... My wrist is 15.5cm, will it fit?
My pleasure! Hmm.. it will fit but it might be a bit large. I recommend checking out the Orient Mako 40! I am working on a review as we speak!
@NordicWatchChannel Thank you... I will wait for the video!
I have to get to it!!
i dont want to burst you bubble but isnt this watch 13.2mm thick ? its pretty freakin fat for a "field'' watch . My 39mm glycine gl400 diver is rated at 300m and is only 11.2mm thick....
It's true that it is quite thick. I don't find that to be a problem, however. But sure there are slimmer ones out there if that's what you want!
because you said that it was perfectly sized....
Hmm.. well maybe a poor choice of words. But in the end these things are my opinions and of course my opinions aren’t going to be agreed upon by everyone :)
@@NordicWatchChannel no thats for sure ...no offense ;) just a little pointy on watch thickness
None taken! Maybe a hand wound Hamilton then :)
Thank you so much for the video. Informative and satisfying!! Cheers!!
Glad you enjoyed it! My pleasure! :)
thanks mate!!!
Happy to help!
Hi there I bought 2 version of this black and green... just wondering is there any metal strap that would be suitable for them ?
Hi! Didn't yours come on a metal bracelet.. or?
@@NordicWatchChannel It did but their metal straps are quiet rubbish
but it has acrylic glass and not mineral glass
It says on Casio's website that it's mineral :)
Pairing this watch with other straps than metal should be strictly prohibited
Haha, is that so!
Awesome tutorial, thank you for the great step by step advice! I was able to resize my Illuminator thanks to you. :)
Glad it helped! Thanks for the feedback mate :)
I’m looking for my first automatic watch, and this one is currently my top pick within the price range. That dial is just gorgeous! ✨💎
Couldn't agree more! Beautiful dial and great dimensions!
thank you goat 😍
My pleasure mate!
Video worked perfectly. Only question: the first key (the thing you remove that holds the link together) on the 6 o’clock side seemed a bit larger and thicker and was harder to remove than the other ones I removed. Is there anything special about that one or was it just random? 3 links was the exact fit for me, no further faff required. Thanks from the UK.
Glad to hear that! I'm not quite sure.. maybe if it's larger it's not meant to be removed or something..
1:50 guess what just happend
😂😂 hopefully it didn’t hit an eye!
