I was gonna take my watch to a jeweler to size it for me-thank you so much for this! Removed 4 links and sized perfectly in under 10 minutes with your clear instruction. You're the best!
@@NordicWatchChannel I think that the DATE & TIME on this CASIO AE1200 watch should be a larger size. The DATE and TIME on the CASIO model W96H-1BV is a much larger size. I can see the TIME on it easily from 1 meter away ! The CASIO W96H-1BV is my favorite digital watch because it shows the TIME, DATE, DAY and YEAR all on the face without having to push any buttons for selection. You look at this watch and it shows everything all at once.... though the CASIO AE1200 watch is better when traveling to different countries.
Was gonna take my watch to a local watch repair to get it re-sized. Decided to save some money and do it myself. Incredible tutorial saved myself the trip, time and money and did this in 10 mins so thank you!
Very good video. The only problem is I got stuck on 6:36 when you remove the link closest to the clasp. For some reason, it gets stuck/jammed and it does not go far enough for me to grab it with the pliers. What can I do to fix it? It is also very stiff. Thanks!
I had a fight with that one for about 20 minutes. If you can get it out far enough you can put a small screw head in the like L shaped part of the link. An insane amount of silicone spray and wiggling it around for 10 minutes did the trick. But damn I needed all my strength for that one!
Just got this watch from my girlfriend & her mom & NEED it to fit my wrist it’s my favorite watch by FAR 😇 thank you baby girllll & future momma in lawww 🥰
This is an amazing video. I am not mechanically inclined and your instructions worked perfectly with a paper clip, a nail clipped and my Leatherman. Thank you!!!
Thanks man, this is my first ever original watch after saving up money from my first job. And am so happy right now that I customised its length according to my wrist, watching this video. Thanks a lot man.❤
thanks a lot bro. you explained this so perfectly, even your description. i watched some other clown’s video & was confused. came to yours and did the deed in less than 1 minute because of your explaining. you’re the best
Thanks for the tutorial! I just got this watch and it didn't fit immediately, so my mom wanted to take me to a shop to get it fitted, I followed your video and did it perfectly. Definitely impressed my mom 😁
Sir, you are amazing! I was able to do this in 15 minutes with a push pin and some pliers. Very easy tutorial. I almost lost the spring pin 5 times but that's my fault for doing this on my bed lol. Thank you!!
I took much more time than you, but at least I got the job done. Obviously, using a fork was is not ideal. Your excellent teaching, calm voice, excellent videography and perfect audio, were brilliant. Many thanks from CYUL.
Thank you so much, the instructions are perfectly clear! I noticed that if I push down and out as opposed to just push out, the pieces come out easier. That still required quite a bit of force but I'm so happy I could do it myself!
Absolutely brilliant video. Saved me going to a Jewellers. I’ll be saving this video for future reference. Also to note the sharp points on a leatherman/other multi tools can be used to get the lynx out if you don’t have a corkscrew at home
Thanks! Fixed mine, I had no idea how to do it. For anyone wondering, you can also use a regular sim ejector tool to remove that initial centimetre adjustment pin. Again, thanks!
Thank you very much for this video. Corkscrew was a great help for the spring bar. I was able to get a small watch screwdriver to work on prying out the link bars.
It took like 5 minutes to take off four links, really simple instructions. This was my first time buying a watch and I was thinking I had wasted my damn money thanks bro😂👍
This video is so helpful. The instructions were easy to follow and I even got a little insight into how RUclipsrs who use their hands in their videos can increase positive audience engagement. Thank you so much! Wearing my new watch now :)
Thanks for the video! It arrived 20 mins ago, I removed two chainlinks on the 6 o'clock side and one on the 12 o'clock and it fits perfect! Thank you so much
This was so helpful! Just got this as my first watch today and didn't even realise that this was a thing that had to be done! Ended up doing it with a compass/divider and some pliers without a hitch. Got nailed in the face by the springbars a couple times though..
This is my true beater and my only quartz watch: when I need a timepiece while doing (real) dirty work, this is it:) Having big wrists, I sized it using only micro-adjust on the clasp four years ago. I lost 25 pounds over the last year and it had gradually become very jangly. Though I have all the tools and experience to size all kinds of bracelets (Seiko pin and collar: no problem:) this one was kind of a baffling to me, never having had to remove links. This video was, a small strap tool and a pair of pliers: three minutes further all is well again. I set the time four years ago, and it has gained 2 whole minutes in that period. Great watch:)
Great video! I’ve been wanting this watch for a while but the fear of not being able to wear it stopped me, I finally received it as a gift and tried to use household tools but that terribly failed. I purchase some tools and for about 40 minutes straight was stuck on the first link refusing to come out, after trying and trying i finally did it and the others released like butter and it now fits🥳🥳🥳
Thanks for this! Especially showing the idea that it can be done without the special screwdrivers. I just moved so I don't have much that I can find so I wound up ruining a pair of small nail scissors (yes, even though I saw what happened to your fork). I guess I could start wearing gloves...But the point is, I got it done with the help of your video! It's actually more involved that I thought it would be when I ordered my watch. And I would say that maybe it would help others if they knew that the piece that holds the links together is a flat piece with a small semi-sphere bumping up, so you need to press downwards near the "ball" first and then continue pushing to the outside side until it really comes out. I had it a little out the first couple of times, and couldn't pull the piece out. So I needed to really go under to push it out far enough.
Hi NWC, I am a UK viewer of this video, which was extremely useful, as I have just purchased this watch. Like Jonfers, I thought it would mean a visit to my local Jeweller, at a cost of £15, a lot, whens the watch only cost £24. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
This is my first watch and i did all the adjustments work with a pocket knife, not the best tool but it works good! You have to be really careful though… awesome video, thanks for the useful content 👌!!
Thanks a lot for this video. It really made the process super easy. I took out the similar amounts of links and the watch now comfortably fits on my wrist.
Thank you -- I had no idea how these links were put together and was looking for strap pins or spring bars! This method works for similar Casio bracelets too; including the one that came with my A1100.
Thank you for this. I used a dental pick for the spring bar. Then used the awl on a Leatherman Super Tool 300 to get the link started, then pliers to remove it fully. The spring bar is fun to put back with fat fingers but doable.
Hi thank you very much for your video, when i was altering mine, one of the spring bars sprung out & is lost. what size are they so i can get a replacement.
@@NordicWatchChannel They seem a good system for the type of watch, but the difference in force needed to get the first one I tried was an eye opener. I had actually tried that one first before looking for a video because I thought I must be doing it wrong!

I had to severely mangle the first link as the pin was slightly bent, but this video greatly helped me in "seeing" it's shape and prevent any significant damage to the chain. My thanks. 🙏
Thank you! Really easy to follow video. And I never thought about the glove thing but it makes sense! Maybe it could be more comfortable for you to have tighter gloves? Like black latex maybe?
Thank you! That’s a good idea! Or at least in these kind of ”how to” videos. I’ve also noticed that the white gloves do some good for the camera also. I film with my phone which is not super advanced and I noticed that the white color on the göoves changes the lighting on the video to a better color often.🤔
Thank you. Is there a reason the links at the ends don’t want to come out? They are not budging. At this point i sorta opened a bit of the top where the hole and arrow are but that in inside seems to be stuck
I don’t know why they would be but it almost seems that there’s a reason because so many people (including me) have had a hard time remocing them. But they can be removed, they might get damaged in the process tho..

The first link just will not remove for me. I managed to move it a little with the corkscrew. But I just can't then drag it out with the pliers. It's jammed stuck. Any suggestions?
These push pins are a real pain in the back side. I love Casio watches but they should try to make it easier to remove links on these cheap bracelets. Good video though, thanks
I get what you mean! Guess they just have to cut corners somewhere. In these ”budget” watches, it’s always the bracelet that takes a hit before anything else. Thank you!
There are some older comments about this issue! I'd recommend putting in a few drops of oil/WD40 or something similar to lubricate it. Then just continue working on it.
Well I got some needle-nose pliers from amazon - still can't get that end piece out - second watch, exactly the same problem. I don't know how you pulled yours out so easily.

i might shaved my connectors a lil bit when pulling them out but u saved me 15 bucks and its was all under 5m
Hahah, sounds good my friend!
Thank You!! Great video tutorial on how to adjust the band on this great watch. Cheers! Happy Thanksgiving!
My pleasure! Thanks for the feedback :) And happy belated Thanksgiving!
Thank you for the tutorial. I was able to adebt my casio dbc-32d-1aes. 👍
My pleasure! Very glad to hear that you found it useful :)
Holy crap, that was actually really easy! Cheers mate!
It is!! Cheers :)
The first link just will not remove for me. I managed to move it a little with the corkscrew. But I just can't then drag it out with the pliers. It's jammed stuck. Any suggestions?
They can be super frustrating. Maybe try to get some oil in there and see if it will loosen up a bit!
Very helpful! Thank you for doing this!
Glad to hear that! My pleasure :)
Thank you!
thanks very clear instructions should be able to do it myself.
Great to hear! I'm sure you will! :)
Can i change metal into resin for this perticular watch?
Yes there is a resin strap for this model! The black version of the watch comes on the resin strap👍🏻
I’m having a really hard time getting the lip out, any suggestions?
There are some older comments about this issue! I'd recommend putting in a few drops of oil/WD40 or something similar to lubricate it. Then just continue working on it.
Thank you for posting this. It helped so much.
Very glad to hear that! My pleasure :)
Best video ever!!! Help me a lot!!! Thank you very much!!!❤
Thanks for the kind words! My pleasure :)
Well I got some needle-nose pliers from amazon - still can't get that end piece out - second watch, exactly the same problem. I don't know how you pulled yours out so easily.
I remember having some struggles. Didn't find it fitting to make the video longer, but maybe should've mentioned the difficulties!
