whenever you finish ranking the entire OST of ultrakill, you should make a series of playing the game so you can see what the tracks actually line up with!

fun fact, into the fire pauses the moment you get close to grabbing your first gun, and the moment you grab it is when the pause ends, and it immediately starts spawning enemies.

With order and most of these tracks Hakita actually does an incredible job of telling a story through both gameplay and music as in order you are fighting against a man who has lost everything his life, his people, his legacy is nothing but a destroyed city with his corpse being piloted by a bunch of parasites and killed for daring to believe that punishment unending was not a fate befitting those whose only sin was to love.

you have to hear the soundtracks with the monologue it's so fire you have to hear order and war with the monologue

fun fact! guts is an extremely slowed down version of glory which plays for half of the stage of 3-1, this is also the same with 6-1 with chord of the crooked saints and alters to apostasy.

imagine making an extremely serious theme with dedication just for it to be used for an enemy that you can kill by stepping on it (14:30)

For context, sunshine (mirage) plays in one of the game’s secret levels. This secret level in particular is a visual novel. The decrescendo is during the middle part of the level, where mirage starts going on a rant about existential dread. The harmonic section happens after the existential dread is over, as whoever the player is playing as convinced mirage out of the existential dread. And fun fact, the level is actually based on hakita’s own experiences with existential dread.

word of advice: some osts have dialogue from characters in game that usually tell the story and whatnot feel free to listen to the versions with the people talking if you don’t mind the story being a bit spoiled
