Rewatching this movie through reactions, I'm starting to think the main character is actually being controlled by evil in the final school scenes. His actions are unjustifieable, even though he's a little stupid throughout the movie, his actions at the school are completely OUT.

I think that the show took such a real situation and made the outcome as literal as possible. You really can make things in your head happen through unintentionally acting them out and those things can do you in. Asher did himself in by saying “if i truly felt you didn’t want me, id disappear.” and so as his son is being born he floats up into space. Some people think it’s also a reincarnation deal but i think it’s the “curse” catching up to him and all the things he’s done in the show.

I don't watch conjurverse movies because of horror, I adore/prefer/love storiest in this universe all are so misterious and gothic, ofc Lored pair is the best thing, a lot of good characters and that is the main reason these movies are successful. We can't tell that 3 of these aren't one the scariest, for me, ever made (The conjuring 1, 2 and Annabelle creation) ... broooh... those were amazing, tc3 is interesting but not scarier than premovies, waiting for tc4 and I think it will be the biggest one in the universe! 😊

Fun fact: Takashi Yamazaki the director of this film is a big fan of Godzilla, he also featured Godzilla as cameo in "Always: Sunset on Third Street" on 2005 and he is the director of "Godzilla the Ride: Giant Monsters Ultimate Battle" which have same design for Godzilla in this film

Seconding what others are saying in that you should check out Shin Godzilla for an arguably even more horrific Goji. Up until this film Shin was the undisputed champion of most powerful atomic breath, and even now you could argue about who holds the crown. Very different style of film but just as well-written (and an equally tiny budget). On a not-Godzilla note, I'm obligated by my love for it to recommend Shane Acker's 9. It's one of a very scant few animated horror movies, and while I wouldn't call it as pitch perfect as Minus One, it's incredibly special, and imo deserves to be on every horror-specific channel just for it's uniqueness (plus there's only like, five total reactions to it on youtube so untapped market lol).

There was some CGI used for Godzilla that was used back in Godzilla 2000 (a very bad underwater scene), but the first fully CGI Godzilla was the 2014 American Godzilla movie. The first Japanese Godzilla that used CGI fully was Shin Godzilla.

I noted with regret how praised this film is. It is ridiculous. It is only saved by the special effects. The separate shots of people-monsters are too frequent, the script is a catastrophe and the interpretation too expressive of these Japanese men who look like some pampered little girls when it should have been a masculine attitude made me waste my time unnecessarily. how stupid can you be to appreciate such a film, I ask.

Drama and lovable character in Godzilla actually was the first of it's kind in this franchise even in Japanese Godzilla (if we discard the first Godzilla movie back in 1954 or something)

25:19 I’ve never actually heard anyone mention this before, but I do think there is a definite reason he was just standing there looking up at the mushroom cloud he created. In this film, Godzilla does appear as just this agent of destruction, but he is sentient and he destroys for a reason. In the novelization for the film, it’s stated that Godzilla didn’t attack Koichi at the beginning of the film because Koichi didn’t harm him. Godzilla actually was fairly peaceful towards humans, specifically the native people of Odo Island. Though I’m sure this gradually came to a stop right around the time of the war due to soldiers being deployed there and understandably being scared of Godzilla, causing them to attack Godzilla. Once Godzilla was struck by the blast of a nuclear bomb and irreversibly mutated and scarred from the bomb, he started taking out his anger and vengeance on humanity, hence why he attacks random ships as well as destroying random buildings and killing people. So when Godzilla let out that extremely powerful blast, I think he recognized what a mushroom cloud was and that just seeing it agitated him even more and probably gave him the closest thing an animal can get to a ptsd related flashback. Another way people view it is Godzilla admiring his work of revenge and roaring victoriously afterwards

He loves her but he doesn’t want to allow himself to be happy cause he still feels guilt about everything, not going thru with his orders and landing his plane, not shooting at Godzilla, etc. it is illogical but that is how ptsd works sometimes

Fyi 25:45 sometimes, the atomic bomb mushroom cloud material can combine with regular clouds and fall as rain with radioactive dust+soot in it, hence the blackness. It is known as 'black rain', very sad. People drank it to quench their thirsts not knowing it was radioactive 😮‍💨😓
