This film is based off of the comic books the crossed which are much more brutal (a baby gets thrown into oncoming traffic) the creator of the comic also made the comic the boys I don't think there's a message behind it though but I could be wrong also just found your channel and I love it :)
Imagine Crossed getting a tv adaptation.

You weren’t wrong, the movie is inspired by crossed. So yeah it is sort of a tv adaptation of crossed that was watered down a little compared to what happened in the comic.

That whole film gave me quarantine and 28 days vibes, not something I'd watch on a daily but once in a blue moon. Nice reaction channel as always.

You should watch ‘I Saw the Devil’ if you haven't, it's Korean and a psychological horror that is much more enjoyable than this if you're not into just brutality and gore!

So apparently the infected are smiling because they can't help it, this virus makes them do things they wouldn't normally do, they're trapped tormented inside their own bodies doing these terrible things while watching themselves do it.
I find it interesting that the old guy chasing the girlfriend doesn't seem to smile, almost like it's the opposite with him...

I'm surprised that the film didn't get banned in any other country because of the bloody horror violence and sexual content, which would be a disgrace because it's not for the people with weak stomachs at least but it is better then watching Ichi the Killer, Cannibal Holocaust, and I Spit On Your Grave
