So if I do there the window won’t fall down aswell nd do you have too attached it to the window??
Im abit surprised you are as good as you are at replacing suspension parts hey , ive noticed in your other video doing struts you you didnt know the name of some parts under the car & again in this video 😵💫 BUT You don't have any drama taking parts off & replacing with new parts & doing a good job ☺️👍 i watch a thousand videos because im replacing my front & rear suspension on my 2004 VY Calais V6 & im learning heaps watching these videos & doing the work myself along with my mate to save on paying a Mechanic the high prices they charge us $$$ 🙈👎 from watching many many VY Suspension videos i think i now know just about every part / component under the car blindfolded 😂😂 That part you're referring to at Rear suspension is rear axle stablizizer link , also known as a rear sway bar link ☺️👍 we have them on the front suspension as you already know but they are straight Links , i only know this because of the many suspension videos like yours ive watched to learn how to do myself , i like your videos 👍 i just thought it surprising you're not familiar with some part names ! It dont stop you doing a top job on the cars thats for sure 👏👏 Cheers from Bundaberg Qld 🕺🍹
Would of put NEW bump stops in top of both struts & Boots 😃👍 Good video & its great learning tool for young car enthusiasts that want to have a crack at doing their own suspension & not pay Mechanics big money that some try & charge us ! Cheers from Bundaberg Qld 🇦🇺🍹🕺
Yea ideally would have put new but I was doing on the cheap but since this video replaced all the struts in the car
are the mace coils worth it? any power gain or differences? cheers
I didn’t notice any difference. I just bought mace because they are reliable.
Cheers
Hey mate i notice theres no tips on here ( or i may be wrong ) have you put tips on? Hows the difference?
Yea I don’t have tips on it, and I’m pretty sure it makes no difference having them or not. if it does it would most likely marginal. But I could be wrong as I’m not 100% sure.
Nice video mate, cheers for the info
Are theese super low k8ng springs or just lows?
how different would this be for a vs mate my rear right has shit it, cheers
If you ask me that seems more like a hot air intake
I don’t think anyone asked you 😂
Hey mate could you do a video on how to replace the vy front side guards blinker bulbs and how to get the blinker housings off and back on ?
If you don't mind me asking, how much did the part cost and where did you purchase it? Is it a special order or do they keep them in stock?
i bought mine off of ebay for $30 (www.ebay.com.au/itm/253358825036?hash=item3afd5cde4c:g:PqoAAOSwYXpioZ3c) and Im pretty sure its special order from most places.
@@dismissedtub6717 thank you
@justchipsfishing8951 no problem
@@dismissedtub6717 purchased 👌
Will fit vz?
From memory I don't think so as the vz has the 3.6L engine so I think it has dual catalytic converter instead of the single one that I have on my vt
Is the cat stock? Sounds awesome
Yeah stock cat
@@dismissedtub6717 Thanks Mate, I just ordered one!
Wtf dude release hand brake jack up with stoppers pull springs out😂 what a waste of time pulling shocks out n bush components
Hey mate I had check engine light and airbag light come on plus a little x in the bottom corner of the left side digital display they just came in randomly and will go away when you do a hard reset but they end up coming back on after driving a few times I’ve check the abs module and that’s find I replaced the thermostat and top hose should I replace the sensors too if that’s the cause of the lights I can’t put a standard scan tool on it as they won’t read cause it’s an ex cop car and I can’t afford a snap on scan tool so plz let me know what it could be

Sorry for the late reply but could it be that you gotta use a obd1 scanner for the older cars? I don't know much about ex cop cars but I would try taking it to super cheap as I think they use a high end one and that might be able to scan for you. But other than that I don't have much experience dealing with fault codes.
@@dismissedtub6717 all good I found out the problem causing my code it was cause of the brake switch sticking what it was doing was conflicting with the cruise control etc once I freed up the switch all the warning lights went out and stayed off then I was able to use the cruise control
Hey bro could you do a coolant flush and radiator video
I may do one in the future but I don't have plans to atm sorry. I think a thermostat video on my channel may be of some use to you.
Genuin question : don't you have to flush the radiator with a garden hose
Do you know much about door weather strip replacements? I'm struggling to find anything online for vt commodore 😭
You should start car for 10 seconds so oil filter is full recheck oil before topping up 👍
Is this stock headers and cat?
Yes in this video it was just a catback that’s listed in the description. But now I have headers x-force headers welded to the stock cat now for shit and gigs
@@dismissedtub6717 Sweet, the headers change the tone much?
@kbgaming6012 yea it dosnt pop as much when reving but sounds nice when actually driving, it does do a trumpet effect when going from 0-70 as the revs get higher
Educational video for about 95% of VY owners who are missing one😂
Ahahhah
Thanks Man! Hoping this fixes my cruise control 👍
Im in the process of making one.
:) Thank you
do you need to put the exhaust hanger clips back on?
You don’t have to, I didn’t and I haven’t had a single problem. But if you want to have peace of mind you can I just couldn’t be assed lmao.
@@dismissedtub6717 legend bro thanks for the reply
No problem :)
What holds the rotor onto the hub any bolts?
Um I’m not sure what you exactly mean. but if your talking about when you go to put the calliper back on you use the lug nuts to hold it. Or If you’re talking about once it’s all done and the wheel goes back on. It’s the wheel that pushes against the rotor which pushes the rotor to the hub then gets tightened with the lug nuts to keep it against the hub. Hopefully that make sense.
if i thought of using the scissor jack when i did this on my car, i would have saved 3 mental breakdowns
Ahahhaha I know it’s not the correct way of doing it but if it works it works.
G'day, here from your Serpentine belt video. Don't suppose you recall the length of the belt, was it 2815mm by any chance? (2.815m) Cheers. 👍
I’m pretty sure the one I used was 2830mm. Because with the way the part number is 6pk means how many ribs are on the belt (so 6 ribs) and then the 2830 means how long it is (2830mm). I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s how it works.
@@dismissedtub6717 Sweet as, that checks out. Cheers cobba. 🤙
Hey bro could u do one on wheel studs
Hey man sorry I only make videos on things that need to be done on my car since I’m a broke boy. Sorry I couldn’t help you out on this one.
Where does the cold air come from tho? Seams more like a warm air intake
Yea lmao, it sounds alright but I didn’t expect much from it and especially for a v6
It comes from the passage side gaurd. No heatsoak as im getting 2 degrees Celsius above ambient temperature
Must be another common fault, seem an to always be they right rear!
Thanks mate, super to the point and helpful 👍🏼👍🏼
No problem, glad I was able to help.
it would fit on a vz ay ik they are all 3.8 n the vz is 3.6 n newer was looking at getting one didnt know if it would fit tho
bit late but wont fit, 3.8's usually come wiht a single cat whereas 3.6's come with dual cats, so they run different mid pipes
Best to change DFI Module at the same time as coil packs. Genuine holden coil packs are more reliable. My 2002 Vy ecotec has about 380000km and still has original coil packs. Will be changing soon with genuine parts, not aftermarket rubbish.
Sou do brasil otimo video parabens pela máquina serviço muito bm feito abraço
Legend ! Thanks man helped me do an easy fix with no guessing
I think Castor bushes were the first mod/upgrade I ever did on my VX Calais way back in 2005/6. Used the Nolathane ones and they have lasted this whole time. Probably needs a regrease. Turning the steering releases tension on castor rod when trying to install them. Using a jack to tighten up or loosen the big nuts helped if I recall. I believe I had a $15 dollar Repco socket set back then and an old style el cheapo beam style torque wrench. Now with my whizbang tools it would probably take just as long 😁I remember the Nolathane kit gave recommendations for the caster. I know I set it to something but cant remember and not sure how it affected me 300,000k's later....
Undoing the park brake causes that whole section to drop without having to loosen any bushes apart from the shock bolt. May still need compressors if you have heavy duty springs.
Seriously one of the best, if not the best videos for the front and rear shocks replacement on these commodores. Hope to see this channel grow. Shows some of the finnicky steps which is handy.
Thanks for the support means alot.
Great vid. Always good to replace the thermal paste under the DFI module when taking off the coils. The stops the heat from getting into the module and coils.
cheers i appreciate it and thanks for the info.
@unclesmate Well electical grease could just be silicon grease to lubricate points and connections. You need Thermal conductivilty paste, like the one used on CPU processors.
@unclesmate Umm no. You but it between the DFI module and the alloy plate that is bolted to the engine.
I have 2 of these cars and auto and a manual I would love if you keep doing videos on maintenance and stuff Ps. I have subscribed you legend
I was at u pull it today they wanted $27 for one pack but I can get 3 brand new off ebay for $53 they reckon these ones are shit
Not sure about the brand but you can get a set of three coil pack by Delphi for $83 (www.ebay.com.au/itm/193218928111?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=G3F6mOULSXm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=tZiQELOaTRy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY) I have heard they are a decent brand. Or if you have abit of wiggle room ngk ranges from 80-120 depending on sales etc
@@dismissedtub6717 I'm just doing my vt calais supercharged up now. Can you do one for the wagon mate
since it's been a bit I don't think you'll see this, but if a bolt/nut is stripped you can you can use the locking pliers or a clamp instead of a spanner, you won't get the bolt/nut on tight that way but it's a neat trick if you want to put a fresh bolt/nut on there, sometimes it's properly buggered though and you've got to whip out the nut cutter or Dremel to get it off
Thanks for the video My vy is having an issue with winding down the windows i have changed the regulators the switch and the relay and the problem is still there any ideas?
