Join me as i set off on a never ending adventure. I'm escaping the hamster wheel of the west, I'm getting to old to keep peddling to pay the bills for the odd holiday here and there, only to return and peddle harder to make up for it. Be a fly on the wall and see the raw footage of costs, accommodation, people, markets, the culture and of course the street food as i make my way through as many countries as possible.

Vlog the uk mate
@@Dfgtyyuhvaghh I’ll be honest mate I’m too busy working to fund my next adventure
@ParkinsonRaw the working in uk would make the most interesting vlog
why aint you been uploading vids lad ?
I’m back in the UK seeing my family over Xmas mate.
Beautiful place - was there 2019. Was curious which of the 2 Koh Chang’s you said was your favourite island and why, mate? Also, what specifically would you say Konchanaburi is your favourite Thai city? Will soon be starting slow travel SEA retirement and exploring new destination options. Thanks for the vid, subscribed and will check out your others. Cheers, Davey🇨🇦
Hi Davey, I mean the Koh Chang just below Pattaya mate. It’s my favourite as it’s so relaxing there and not as busy as the other islands to the other side of Thailand like Koh Samui etc. Kanchanaburi is my favourite city again it’s very relaxing with the River Kwai running through it, the people are really nice, it’s not as expensive as most places, loads of great markets/temples etc and there’s loads to do there with the history of the war which really interests me. I hope you have an amazing retirement and trip around SEA🇨🇦🏴👍🏻
@ I actually realized later you did specify the Koh Chang you meant! M’bad. Haha Much busier but more to do than Koh Phayam though, no doubt. Do you know if they have the cheapo rustic bunglows option too, or no? If so, I’ll make my way for sure. Love Koh Phayam bunglows - pretty much “glamping” for me! Haha! At least since they got 24/7 power. I’ve seen earlier Chuck’s vids on his trips with Paige to Kanchanaburi (Koh’s Chang and Phayam too, for that matter), but they roll a bit different than I, so I don’t quite get the tastes of destinations from them (notime2bsad yt) as I’d like. Thus, I sure appreciates your thoughtful comments, Richie! Thanks as well for your best wishes on my retirement 🙏 Davey
Are you ok mate? Not seen you for a while. 24Nov2024
Hi mate, I’m back in the UK till next year seeing my family.

What’s happening with your vlogs mate ?
Hi Bob, I’m back in the UK till next year mate.
such a heavenly place.
It is beautiful mate and so relaxing.
Kanchan is always good value..... Now get some content out there or I will be forced to re-awaken Rutger Haier(blade runner style),to kick your arse!❤
Haha sorry Simon I haven’t been looking on here much I’ve been pedalling the hamster wheel back in the UK mate.
You remember,Richy, when we were fourteen years old? Mastication twice a day and masturbation every three minutes😂😂😂😂
Or I will tell your geography teacher( fuck, she was hot wasn't she)!😅 Well, time changes things huh? My geography teacher was actually Elizabeth Shue.....or that's how I wish to remember her😂❤
What the fuck you doing Richy? If you are not dead then get your skinny arse out of bed and get bizzy...
Looks a hive of activity.
It is a nice market town Darlington
You get what you pay for mostly.
@@PeterParker-gt3xl depends if your in the tourist areas mate, I find better value in the traditional areas for food and accommodation etc
Great Video Great Bloke, even better football shirt !!! @@andrewmcgill6369 thanks very much Andrew, marching on together mate.
Sorry mate.. there is no such thing as monkey temple… it’s quiet offensive. Swoyambhu Mahachaitya or just Swoyambhu Nath or Swoyambhu will do.
No need to be sorry, I read monkey temple a few places. I think I refers to there being lots of monkeys there, quite offensive? Anybody can be offended if they look for it in my opinion, if it’s not said in an offensive way there shouldn’t be a problem mate.
@ no you didn’t say it in a offensive way but it’s a place of worship… it’s sacred to both Buddhist and Hindus alike.. those who refers it as a monkey temple are ignorant of the shrines significance 🙏🙏
Hi Richie, not seen any new vlogs recently. Hope all is well with you. Regards Kell
Hi Kell, I’m back in the UK and doing great thanks mate. I’m going to relax here with my family over Xmas and see how things go for next year.
Waiting in Ranong............ Koh Phayam very soon. Great video❤
Thanks mate, you’ll love Koh Phayam it’s so beautiful and relaxing💯👌🏻
Walks to train station. 2 hour layover in Istanbul. Arrives in Karachi @ 4am, followed by cup of tea and immediately embarks on an 11 mile walk (with baggage) to accommodation, like it’s nothing. Legend.
Thanks mate, I do love a good wander.
Hope your well richly not had a blog of you for a while take care life’s hard in Thailand sometimes
Hi Alan, sorry about the late reply I’m back in the UK and doing great thanks mate. It got tiring living out of hotels and a bag for 16 months so I’ve come back to spend here for Xmas.
@@ParkinsonRawBack on the shovel pal, good to know you're alright. You're mate Johnny left a number on the coffee thing. I was gonna phone him but thought it would've been a liberty. Enjoy your time and see you when I see you. Good luck.
@matthewmiles9626 thanks Matthew, I’m doing trade plate vehicle deliveries. I couldn’t go back on the sites over Xmas. You have a good one mate👍🏻
Best of luck.
Thank you.
Mate you still managing to find good values. Thailand has gotten expensive like most of the world. I was there earlier this year. If I return, I'm planning to skip all the big cities. Far too many tourist and expensive accommodations and food. Actually the discusting level of tourist who will be invading Thailand over the next few months is a serious put off. Now that Thailand has opened its door to the world with 60 day stay and many counties either getting visa waivers is making it less appealing.
It depends where you go mate, I tend to stay, shop and eat where the locals go and you still get really good value. Obviously in the touristy areas it is getting expensive.
Where u at richy?
Just read you're back in uk richy. Good move, no rules. How about a few shorts from UK keep channel ticking over. Vid of you looking at big map of SE asia pointing out your journeys would be FANTASTIC beside crackling fire at christmas! Then again, if knackered just chill. Your adventures have cheered me up massively this year. ALAW.
Thanks mate, living out of a bag for 16 months was beginning to be a chore so I’m back for Xmas with the family. I’ll have to see about vlogs, I’ve just started working again and I don’t have much time at the minute. MOT👌🏻
Liked.
👌🏻
Ricky what's happening man? The past 3-4 months have been very stop start. You want it to be a personal channel but communication is severely lacking. Hope all works out for the best
Thanks, I haven’t been right since I got dengue fever a few months ago. The bacterial infection from Pakistan also hit hard so I’ve come back to the UK to recover and spend some time with my family till after Xmas.
Are you in Kanchanaburi now?? I'm off to Chiang Mai on Monday and hope to buy ya a meal and a beer or whatever.
I’m back in the UK mate, I wasn’t well so I’ve come home to recover and spend Xmas here. I hope you have a great time and thanks it would have being good to meet you.
@ParkinsonRaw Please get well soon.
Thanks
your more then welcome Richy i.m planing another month in thailand thinking of doing kanchanaburi 6 nights it will be my first time there then to hua hin for 10 nights and pattaya for 10 nights then into bangkok for 4 nights just cant wait would you do it the way i.m planing to do it
Thank you Michael, I bet you can’t wait and yes I’d do it the same way you are mate.
@@ParkinsonRaw Thanks Richy
It's sort of like the road up to Pia, Thailand. Enough turns to make you vomit. I like your vlogs, you make a good effort to show some great places not worn out with mass tourist.
Thanks mate, it did remind me of when I did the Mae Hon Son Loop just a mini version.
Whats the Lamai bro now
spoke to soon about no rain
It’s expected mate unfortunately it’s that time of the year.
Hi Richy when's your next vlog mate
Beautiful view and glad you got a good night sleep. So guess you are only doing 1 a week now or you having problems uploading? Hope you are feeling alot better and getting over from that first country you went to
I am feeling a lot better thanks Jason, I’m back in the UK for a bit to reignite the passion. I felt like I was going through the motions travelling so long so I come home for Xmas with the family.
@ParkinsonRaw enjoy the Christmas and yes rest up
@travelswithjasonf1463 thanks Jason, you too mate.
You was taking a gamble wearing your white Leeds Leeds Leeds shirt a day after being attacked by 2 Dutchnmen
I’m very stubborn Paul I hate backing down mate.
Another good travel vlog and fair play to yer telling that motorbike taxi (very politely) where to go,i bet that pooch at 18.25 has never heard such a broad northeast accent. On the dual pricing you can see the $ signs in their eyes as soon as you ask How Much.Cheers
Thanks Paul, I had a lovely walk mate. I expect the dual pricing in places like this but I try and avoid them when possible.
You're informative mate. Good job. Get some cheap dental work done. They'll fix that robbers dog smile. Keep on rockin mate.
Thanks, dental work isn’t possible unfortunately I was in a car accident when I was a child. I’ve tried everything.
I think the No Spitting signs you see over Asia are aimed at those who chew the betel nut, creates loads of red spit, they chew it for its amphetamine qualities, usually those who work long days, its addictive so leave it alone if you come across it, more popular in India i think, go well
Ahh that makes sense, I seen a lot of people doing that in Pakistan and Nepal. Thanks Andrew.
Good to see you back in your homeland .. kanchanaburi 👌🏾 hope you are keeping well mate
I am, thank you mate👍🏻
It’s a shame they have closed the old train station at hua hin,it had lots of character,oh well! Times change not for the better I am afraid!I was in hua hin 10 years ago looks a lot more commercialising shame!
It is unfortunately John, there is a lot of lovely stations on the high speed link that have closed just like Hua Hin. I totally agree on the City I much prefer Pratchup Khiri Khan it’s so much quieter, not commercialised and has lovely beaches.
Richy have you not got a chest cam or something similar so we can experience the ride with you
I have mate I used it on the Mae Hon Son loop but the footage was terrible to be honest.
No boarded up shops, no Jakies sleeping in doorways and harassing folk, no streets full of Bookies, Turkish Barbers, Charity Shops and Vape Shops. Looks nice, much nicer than my Home Town!
It is a nice small market town Darlington thankfully Chris.
as a traveller we do enough by visiting the countries we do and spending money in the local communities we pass through, it is up to us to decide where and what we spend our money on, giving your opinion on why you don't pay to visit certain places ahould not result in viewers giving you grief over it, go well Richy
Very true Andrew, as you know money is not easy to earn and I’ve always been brought up to watch the pennies. I make a point by giving back like you said by spending with the locals rather than corporations. Thank you.
it does get tiresome dealing with all the requests to buy various stuff and depending on the day you'be had does effect how much patience you have left, but you deal with it well, even though they've asked thousands of tourists before you they still appreciate a no thank you or even a shake of the head and a smile, it just becomes something you don't even think about as a backpacker/budget traveller, go well Richy
Thanks Andrew, after a tiring day it can get to be a pain but I always try and be polite whenever possible. I see a lot of people totally ignoring them and I don’t like that personally.
Richy.. He doesn't speak His mind mate ,, He says what the producers would like Him to say. Some scenes can have more than one take,, but his food speaks for itself
It does mate and it wasn’t badly priced either for a very good pizza. I quite like Gordon to be honest but he can be over the top at times.
Been to pan and Dave’s many times my other half works there when she’s not in the uk
It was very nice mate
@@ParkinsonRaw I’ve had that cheese burger myself lol

Hello 😮 Absolute mayhem sums it up, really.
Yes that sums it up perfectly mate.
Have you been out to the big Buddha in the mountains? I rode out trying to find it and ended up at some amazing places. You have to drive towards Chengdu cemetery and beyond! Well worth hiring a bike and exploring the local area.
@@agentgch yes I’ve been a few times, I’ve covered the vast majority of Kanchanaburi on my bike it’s my favourite City in Thailand. I’ve got 45 vlogs from there in my playlist.
@@ParkinsonRaw I concur Richie, absolutely wonderful place. I first visited in 2004 and hadn’t been back till Feb this year. Things have changed obviously but the vibe of the place remains the same.

Kanchanaburi reminds me of keswick. Same wet climate but a touch warmer obv. I couldn't handle the hot weather over there but certainly could handle the prices. Good health to you, bud.
Thanks mate, yes in rain season it definitely does. In high season everything turns to straw in up to 45 degrees.
