When i was backpacking thailand was like going home. Ive been there at least a dozen times. I left india for similar reason's. Admittedly it was 28 years ago but it was hard work. T.hailand was / is my safe place. Cant wait to get back to the land of smiles next year. Good vid mate keep them coming and stay safe

I see old school dishes and stalls that existed in the 90s but missing in bkk and was relieved. Looks like its outside of bkk. Cool river accommodation. You could literally go fishing outside of your room while having a few beers 🤣
I appreciate your candour about the negative aspects of travel as well as the things you like...there are too many vloggers on youtube who only want to paint a wonderful picture of their travels and it soon gets pretty unwatchable..

With all that construction, you could imagine the population of Bangkok will explode in 10 years time. I'm so glad you aren't in Pakistan, Karahci, or Hyderabad any more. I was a bit scared for you. I feel so much more comfortable with you in Thailand. How great is that supermarket!!! I just spent a couple of weeks in Japan, and their grapes were incredibly expensive!! Like they were made of gold!! With things so cheap, I can't believe they have second hand stalls at the markets. Where was that place you would live in Bangkok? Just outside the city? Hi Greg, yes Jay’s a star mate a very good friend. If I was to live in Bangkok I would prefer to be in the Bang Son area it’s very traditional Thai with no westerners and great markets. It is amazing to be back in Kanchanaburi, if I ever settle in Thailand this is definitely where I would live it’s so relaxing and the people are lovely. Thanks.

I stayed at the VN Guest house in March. Got a raft room for B700 a night (not cheap). But it has great sunsets and the food is excellent. One of the original guesthouses. A stone's throw from Aussie rules bar with Bob and the moaning expats. Love it.

How long are you traveling for Richy? i'm off to Bangkok myself on 14th January then off to Pattaya for 4 nights then onto Koh Chang for 4 nights then back to Pattaya until 5th feb to return to UK, 20 days in total, i plan on starting my own vlogging channel while in Thailand. deffo want to look into traveling for longer maybe in 12 months but dont know what the score is with visas, i know it's 60 days on arrival but how will i get on if i want to extend beyond 60 days? love your vlogs mate, keep up the good work.
Thank you Mick, I have no thoughts on a time limit mate I’ve been travelling for 15 months now. The visa’s are hard to keep up with here they change all the time. After your first 60 days you can extend that at immigration for a further 30 then you would have to leave the country and do a border jump for a couple of days then repeat the process. There is a DTV visa which is basically a digital nomad one but I’m not overly sure on the rules. I hope your channel goes well👍🏻
Hi Richy. As a vlogger all you can do is be honest and factual, and that's exactly what you were re Pakistan. I didn't take anything as negative, just informative. Credit to you for going there in the first place - you could have gone straight to Nepal. I made the mistake - too much Mekong and coke the night before - of leaving cash in my suitcase and it disappeared on the ferry/minibus journey from Ko Samui to Phuket. That doesn't make me negative, and it doesn't make all Thai people dishonest - just the opportunist b*****d who picked the lock on my case and helped himself to a small wad of 10 x £50 notes. (That wooden box you saw in the market would have been a good place for him!) My fault. Lesson learned, a £500 one. Look forward to seeing more of Kanchanaburi. Enjoy your week's r and r.

I think some of the complaints in the comment section were from locals that turned subscribers. Or something like that. If you gave an honest opinion about the polluted rivers the some locals might be offended and comment in retaliation. At least that's the impression that I got. If they don't like the state of the river, I think they should clean it instead of trying to clean the comments on the river.

I am sure there are varying levels of being alright with it but I think that's the case. I used to live in London and Thames water which is the water company. They let alot of the sewage overflow into the Thames. Even at the Olympics in France this year they had to test water before letting racers compete in it. Because of e.coli and all that. The fact is Paris and London are alright with it isn't really much different as far as caring. It's hard to make people care after it's perceived as "too late". I agree with you, but it's an unfortunate situation that people don't care more about the world that we all live in. It's not an Eastern or Western thing. It's a people thing I think. Yeah, I'd say durian is the smelliest fruit in the world. One time my girl brought durian into the apartment. It wasn't even durian, it was a durian shake, and it wasn't even the shake but the empty cup the shake use to be in. Make the whole apartment smell horrible. I'm the font today Richie..... I was given a small bottle of iodine(believe it's called biodine in pharmacy's). Look after your little cuts and after letting the iodine dry,if you like(plasters don't 'cut it),' I put a couple of drops of super glue on it for sealing. Not sure if this is correct,but it works for me. And the glue will naturally break up and fall away after a day or so.
Lottery tickets(100 baht each), are great gifts for thais that have done you proud. They get more excited than if you were to offer them the cash alternative and less uncomfortable if you are that way inclined. Try to find the individuals lucky numbers or date of birth for extra thought.
If you find you have a sore throat anf discomfort swallowing; check your tongue for signs of a white furry covering....and get yourself down to a pharmacy for antibiotics. Just...well,could of picked it up anywhere.....we all subject our tongues to differing experiences,right?😮
