👍..interesting encounter with immigration....I know there's other changes coming - seems many countries are moving to Electronic Travel Authorisation....including Thailand
I recently watched a vlog on buzzin pattaya channel with a visa guy who said that they are now cracking down since the new 60 days visa. Even looking back in your passport over the previous couple of years to make sure people are genuine tourist and cracking down on having an onward ticket. Its worth a watch especially as you are a regular in Thailand. There are 2 vlogs about a month ago.
Hi Richy , I'm also getting the same problem with Immigration wanting a return ticket .how did you go about cancelling the return part after you bought it? Was it on Skyscanner?
Hi Alan, I never booked a return. I went on my trip.com app and booked a one way flight to Kuala Lumpur for £32 and then cancelled it after leaving the airport and got the full refund.
It sounds like you got a right pair of awkward sods there Richy. Its one of those things we are always aware of , but never happens. Until it does, like it has to you. Great you got the flight cash back. Best of luck😄
Good attitude to have to it all Richy. I ran into something similar many, many years ago going through customs., they were training newbies. I wasn't as patient back then, and probably less smart and locked horns with her challenges and bad manner.. Because of this I was carted off into a back room where their trainee males went the full Monty search on me, and I mean FULL.... Horrendous. I came away from that more wiser I hope, and in future said, I'd just play the game , smile and let them get on with their training. Its funny now looking back ( early 1980s). But wasn't at the time. Happy travels Richy , from Kampot... Cambodia ( I saw your film from here months back and it helped swing it for me) 😃🤣🤣👍
I had a feeling you was going to go back to Thailand 🇹🇭. Thank you for the shout out Now go somewhere nice in Thailand and build yourself up again Looking forward to new vlogs. On a different note maybe just have a hotel for many nights than once though cancel it like you did with flight for next time you come back to Thailand???
Lovey videos as always mate. This country is so stressful. Look how happy it is there. If I could build there I would be there. Just a big difference in money 😂. Ginger tea is good I drink a pint of lemon and ginger water every morning 👍🏻 keep. Safe pal
Hi Richy. Some things belong in the kitchen, and not on a customer's table. An inedible chicken meal experience I had came in Malaysia. I branched out and went for chicken and tofu soup. It turned out to be chicken's feet and squares of foul-tasting tofu in a grease-topped broth. I'd have been better off going for the chicken's beak. All the best for Thailand.
Hi Barry, that sounds awful mate. I had some dodgy prawns in Malaysia, it was the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had. Thanks it’s great to be back in Thailand.
Hey Richy coming home..... It is plenty green here in Kanchan; never seen rain so heavy and peesistant! Here the last twenty hours. From monsoon to constant showers. Ahhh, our green and pleasant land!
I'd echo the advice to seek medical attention, you might have an amoebic problem they are rife in the Asian subcontinent, my ex wasn't right for a few months after being in India and Nepal, she had contracted an amoebic infection which was sorted out in Bangkok in a few days, her transformation from lethargic and feeling generally 'under par' to her nagging, vibrant self was spectacular. As regards Immigration, as mentioned above, they're under no obligation to permit any non native, yet the enforcement of the rules does seem to depend on the particular official, but you seem to have been unlucky but it's all a part of the learning experience Richy. I think you did well in the circumstances, you kept calm, rolled with their demands, enjoy Bangkok, I arrive on Thursday morning next week, hopefully my arrival will be smoother than yours was 😊.
Thanks I’ve heard of the detox retreats, I’ll have to look into it. Yes immigration change the rules so often it’s hard to keep up. I bet you can’t wait to get here, I hope you have a great time🇹🇭👍🏻
@@ParkinsonRaw thanks Richy, I'm really buzzing about getting back mate, but I hope for a smooth trip, I actually really dislike the actual travel hassles these days, once I'm settled in my hotel in Sukhumvit, I'm out and about filming for the new channel, I'll be much happier. I feel you should look into the amoeba angle, amoebic health issues are common from the Asian subcontinent especially from some of the less sanitary situations you found yourself in, like falling into flooded holes in Pakistan etc... even the dengue can linger on for a while. Seeking professional medical advice in Thailand is easy and affordable, that would be my advice.

Might want to rethink how (often) you travel to and from Thailand. A country has NO OBLIGATION, ever, to allow a non citizen into their country. Even visa holders can be denied entry...and it does happen, more than we think.
