Use matt medium for sticking in the "glass" it wont frost the plastic. It's also a great adhesive if you want to put together pre-painted parts, as it wont harm the paint work. Also good for adhering flock and grass as it remains flexible and doesn't dry brittle like PVA, dilute as you would for PVA

These came out pretty nice, its a good way of working with those paints. I think you might want to try a higher opacity yellow like cadmium. Most of the more common arylide paints tend to be pretty transparent and will be showing through the base colors. You don't want to airbrush cadmium though. benzimidazolones are fine for airbrushing but are often semi transparent so you would have to mix with white if you want opacity. Luckily they tend to be pretty saturated and high strength for yellows so don't desaturate much when mixed with white.

I love how you look at the armour when it's done and you go 'Thaaaaaaat doesn't really look white at all.' and then the rest of the colours get added and you realise that it really does when you have those other colours to bounce off. Nice job mate :)

No, blue is not black and that is not it. Look at a video by Duncan Rhodes who demonstrates that black does not have to be any other colour. If you want to get an idea for other colours to add contrast to a model see if you can find a video where one of the Spanish lads does a Sisters of Battle. It was done shortly after the Sisters box was released and it took a few hours to get the job done without it looking like you had painted black armour blue. You are not the only one by the way, I have seen a few recent videos of people thinking black aint black. Well it is and the challenge is to keep it that way but get definition.

LIght pink undercoat for yellow... yup, that works well.

Nice Job overall. To my taste I would have gone a bit darker on the highlight to avoid the 'tron' look. Wth that said, I dont paint up black space marines either so no great experience talking, just personal taste. Love this channel Alex. Keep it up!

I personally am not a fan of the blue on black armour, a lot of tutorials use blues but I just think it looks odd. I use black legion contrast to base, Corvus black for chunky, mechanicum grey for edge then Administratum grey darkened slightly with the mechanicum for extreme highlights

this would work great with dark eldar, although I found they pop with really sharp edge highlights. thanks for the video you knob

I avoid AK, because of their "genocide and vile language" advertising history But some really good tips there to work with with other ranges. I have had some decent results with edges using cheap acrylic paint pens, but they don't work well over the whole armour, so I need that help Thank you for putting yourdelf through this pain for SCIENCE and art

Nice set up. I would love to emulate it, but I think my wife would object to me turning the flat into a painting studio, she has this mad idea that there should be some room for us to live Lights though. I must be able to do something with that Definitely an asperationsl set-up, thanks for sharing

I have been painting my Black Templars with yellow tabards and my recipe is Black Prime (from the rest of the model's armor being black) -> Light Umber base layer-> Golden Brown midtone layer->Golden Yellow as the highlight-> Wash with GW Casadora Yellow-> Then Golden Yellow and Dorn Yellow for edge and fine detail highlight of the cloth. If I was doing yellow armor, probably Zandri Dust prime, Golden Yellow Zenithal, Wash Casadora yellow, then highlight with golden yellow and Dorn yellow. The browner base layers help to sell the weathering and grime that I finish the model with.

I just take white paint and pee in it

Don't know if this explanation will work but here goes. There is no need to use a brush to get the contrast medium out. After shaking, flip the lid up 90 degrees and then twist to the side of the pot while tilting it back down like you where going to close the pot. You get nice controlled droplets falling of, just like a dropper bottle. Usually three to four. Close lid and shake slightly to do more drops. No need to mess with brushes. Give it a try. Great video
