Great video! It starts out with something I can understand and even try, then dropped into techniques I’m nowhere near ready for yet. It really runs the range from beginner to advanced techniques in one video.
Bro, I absolutely love your sense of humor! The dry humping paint comment and "your mom's favorite part" line totally caught me off guard 😆 Your blend (or stippling) of editing style, narration, humor, and solid hobby advice is wonderful. Always makes me smile when I see a new video posted in my feed. Keep on creating Alex!
Thank you!! I worry sometimes that not all the videos are funny and it’s sometimes difficult to throw in the jokes (or when I run out it’ll suck) but it’s nice to know they’re still working as intended :) - I appreciate the comment! :)
Absolutely love your videos Alex, I've learned loads of good techniques and tips from watching them. My 14yo and I recently picked up Warhammer again (after a short spell before Covid, but my son was just too young to have any confidence painting), and your videos have helped us a lot in our progress. Side note, we live in Edinburgh (10 minutes walk from Ancient Robots) so the Scottish side of your videos is a massive bonus, haha!
Ah no way Ancient Robot is great! I wish I lived closer but I moved up north last year, so I'm in rural Perthshire now. Glad you like the videos though - and love that you're getting your kids into it too! Tell your son not to worry about having confidence, just to have fun - the confidence will come second :D
Ace - yeah it's quite a popular technique - called "micro stippling" sometimes too - but you can do stippling on a large scale with some good drybrushes too :)
Pretty funny, because your "painting in silence" comment hit home with me. I actually always paint in complete silence...like some sort of psychopath. To each their own! 😅

Thank you!! Really appreciate that - hope it continues to be useful :)

Grate stuff.
Thanks!!
Stippling-thingy was something new - need to try that out! Thanks!

Haha, I've done it before but it feels odd to me - I like to have something to listen to - but I totally get it if silence helps you concentrate :D
That's all well and good, but how's your sample knowledge?
The tunes are real nice here
It took me far longer than I'd care to admit to realise that's a wet pallet camera inserted and not just paper on your mat.
Haha 😝
First 🎉
