    Great videos! Very helpful for an entry level DG'er like myself. I just wish these videos were numbered so I knew in which order I should study them in. What comes first, the Brace video?, this video?, the Power Pocket one? etc. I guess the 'Robot Bsck Hand' one. It's all a little unclear to me. Still though, very good videos I'd probably recommend to friends.

    Consider showing your motions so they are easy to copy watching this video , at 7:10 its easier to copy for a right hander and feel the right motion. More from a right hander standpoint (left hander will have the video just right). Flipping the video image helps so if I look in the mirror at myself and look at the video at the same time , the motions are aligned. If not flipped its very difficult to copy for a right hander at least. I saved the video and flipped it in a video editor. Again all good for a left hander.

    After trying the double move last year, I couldn't stop rounding and shanking everything to the right! Ruined my driving distance and accuracy. No more double moves for me. Just gonna throw like I know! With that said, I'm sure given time and practice it could be beneficial to younger players.

    I've seriusly been playing disc golf recreational for 33 years 🙄🤪🤣 Love the game. My short game is excellent, my long game comes up short😂. I'll be 49 on the 27nth of this month. I hit a Plateau a few times, Maxed out at 268ft, muscling the disc standing still with rounding. restricted to standing still do to a spinal chord injury supported by rods & screws. Started to pitch my disc like a baseball player throwing with my glove hand. gained 30ft with🤪 roundinding still, maxed out at 298ft with some freak accidents at 310-320ft 😅 with all this being said, I changed three things & gained a whopping 112ft from my max of 298ft. I thought it was a fluke & repeated an average distance gain of 93ft. maxing out a average of 391ft. Here is what I changed to achieve my max average of 391ft. 1- Started the x step run up. 2- lowered my center of gravity by bending my knees, making sure I was always smooth,balanced while maintaining my shoulder height the same throughout my run up like a ninja creeping up on somebody 🤣. 3- fixing my rounding for good, by watching this video. I've seen 100s of great videos on form & to help stop rounding. But none of them helped the rounding problem as much as your video did for me. You've helped me in a way that I'm able to never have the rounding sneak backup on me without me noticing. My rounding is officially gone forever, THANKS TO YOU. Thank you for changing my life. Now, I may actually Join the PDGA for the first time & go out to compete in the tournaments. This is exciting news for me. 😉👍🏼Thanks Again.

  • @coreylemieux6003
    @coreylemieux6003 10 месяцев назад

    Me personally i thinks its like a scale, and its based on designed optimal flight of a disk, specific to its turn fade and glide. Dont think you can put a specific mph on each rating becuase of all the variables so i use them as a reference! If you.jave a disk with negitive one turn and can hyzer flip it, you probably should go down one speed flight number

  • @JohnFnLopez
    @JohnFnLopez 11 месяцев назад

    Can you explain how and why the "speed" number in a disc means? I've heard it's arm speed. I've heard it's flight speed. I've heard it's the speed of the spin. If it's the speed of flight, there should be a MPH number attached. If it's arm speed, there should be correlating MPH, too. And if it's spin speed, there should be an RPM associated. And these should be specific to the flight number. A 5 speed disc would have a specific MPH number range. You said a 13 speed disc won't perform as intended at 50 MPH. But you didn't say how fast a 13 Speed disc needs to go. Is this because nobody knows? I'm sorry, but there's NOTHING about discs that can't be measured. Speed, spin, turn, glide, fade, and distance are all easily and readily measurable. I feel like flight numbers are either complete horse shit, or completely misunderstood. And if that's the case, someone is withholding information. That's not likely, so I'm pretty sure it's just arbitrary garbage designed to sell more discs. Otherwise everyone would explain these numbers the same way, yet everyone explains them inconsistently. Am I wrong?

    • @edgerunnerproduction
      @edgerunnerproduction Месяц назад

      Not long ago, all makers started using the same flight rating system. As for the numbers and what they actually mean, it’s basically just a rating system. And absolutely there are some discs numbers don’t represent their actual flight characteristics that well. Buts it’s basically a benchmark that needs to be taken loosely. You still get an idea on what type of disc it is by its numbers but in the end, it’s trial and error and research. The speed rating is just that…a rating. I am not sure what arm speed needs to be to throw a 13 speed but I would imagine it’s over 65mph easily. Cool thing about the app is it does have a simulator that lets you play with different disc numbers and also adjust the 6 parameters and you can see what your flight might look like. Not taking wind into account of course.

    Some visual observations that not to many folks talk about based upon my perpetual quest to get 400 feet. NUMBER ONE - A four finger hold is an absolute necessity. Three finger holds won't cut it. NUMBER TWO - This does not get talked about much... You must curl the disc (disc almost touches forearm) when the disc approaches the pocket and gets released. Without the curl you don't get full snap/spin. Go to an open field and try it, the power increase is sick!
