After trying the double move last year, I couldn't stop rounding and shanking everything to the right! Ruined my driving distance and accuracy. No more double moves for me. Just gonna throw like I know! With that said, I'm sure given time and practice it could be beneficial to younger players.
Question I’ve been wondering… both the extension and the double move, does this happen when the plant foot hits the ground with the toe? Or when the heel hits the ground? Maybe a better way to put it, does the double move naturally cause your heel into the ground, or is it something you think about to “start” the throw?
You're nearly fully planted as you bring your left arm into play. during the double move, you will be beginning to drive your front leg into the ground, burying it downward, to maximize the energy you've created
Haha yeah, I wonder why. I have talked to many of the pros to confirm this: but they don’t aggressively talk about it. The power pocket is more important.
That's my problem! I round even tho my reachback is not behind me. It was reason nr 3. Rotating too fast. First time i've seen someone address that. Then my question is, how do i not do that.. how do i get the disc into the powerpocket befor i rotate too far. I have had success with instead of pullingmy right arm towarda the target i pull it towards my body, but then i feel like i am not pulling the disc straight through, rather bouncing it off my body. It works great on fairway shots, but doing it with a run up feels very weird and people always say pull through, not pull inn.. ahh to solve these things i think we all need a live lesson with a pro.. noticed this in normal golf as well, impossible to learn from youtube, there are so many more questions you get from every video, that is not addressed😅
Feels like Coach T has the double move starting before the full extension... in multiple videos he has this "pop" of his wrist caused by the double move being initiated. Your timing makes way more sense to me logically, but seems to contradict the other major source out there. Can you shed some light here?
Yup. Look at most of the pros. Their extension happens right (super super fast) after the extension. Gannon is the reference. HOWEVER - it can be different for others. You can do it both ways. My observation is it’s better right as you extend. :)
@@seekrdiscgolf Awesome, time to go spend some hours in the field working on this. Curious to know what the "feel" of it is when it's done correctly versus incorrectly. Assuming there's a natural sense of power, but is there a feeling of resistance as the disc is coming through?
@@jlfrado1089 oh yeah. You feel the resistance big time if you do it right. Make sure you video yourself. That’s the best way to do it. Keep me updated. Email me after if you want. Contact info on my website.
Coach T uses Mcbeth, Gibson timing in which their off hand is moving before full extension, thus causing the slingshot effect. The slingshot comes because the extension gets pulled in by that offhand. Coach Ts wrist pop is created using that effect and extra delay. Gannon goes early, doesn't get the same delay, and makes up for it because he is flexible teenager. Check out Barela if you want to see a younger contrast against Gannon
My comment made it into the video intro, i'm famous!!! Ha appreciate you guys for the dedication to Disc Golf and constantly searching for ways to help people get better. I still think "coach T" is way overdoing this move and will blow out his elbow, but keep up the videos man!
Good Follow up

Another great video bud. 🎉

Either the toe or plant foot. I’d prefer when the toe hits it. That’s what the pros do the most :)

Nice video....I want to hear a pro talk about this. It's kinda weird that I haven't.
Probably because the all keep it to themselves lol

They do talk about it, all the time. Simon calls it "rubber-band arm." Other youtubers also..

Try out disc golf training app :) might help answer your questions.
So how far do you throw?
450 consistent. 480 max.
