    I notice much more snap and explosiveness from Calvin’s style of reach back.

  • @DgSurfin

    I think Calvin can get that distance even without a full reach-back because he can produce the “whip” action better than most. Seems like he engages all his other muscles with perfect timing and whips around super fast

      @@seekrdiscgolf There's more than one right way to swing a golf club (look at Jim Furick), and the same for DG. Not everyone is gonna look like Will Shusterick when they throw, and thats ok.

      @@bcp5296d I love how you are challenging this “flash and no substance” disc golf channel that insults the professionals. It’s deserved. They come out with like 6 videos and have spent their mortgage on their studio/website without first establishing themselves as a trust worthy RUclips channel.

      @@seabas22 I agree that it is a little jerky, but if your timing is right it doesn't matter. Tiger woods is more jerky than Fred Couples, and look at bryson dechambeau, very jerky.

    What you are seeing is young players adaptation to diversity in the human body. Muscular structure, etc being different for everyone, if you learn at a young age, your body will kind of just do it. Your body forms around the way you throw, as you are young and still growing. A lot of it has to do with the ability to twist or lack therof, and the makeup of your back and shoulder muscles. That's my take anyway. I know folks with horrible form who throw 450+. They started at a young age, and their body style is different. Shoot look at GG. No one will ever teach you to drive with your left arm over your right like that.

  • @brandonbyerly7982
    @brandonbyerly7982 2 года назад

    Yeah I feel like Calvin Hamburg kind of has her throw like that by not straighten out his arm all the way kind of keeping it bent a little bit, and then some players like Simon been their arm on purpose so they don't throw as far

      calvin has an amazing amount of natural tension in his arm and lats. People who have more relaxed muscles will want to throw like OP says.

    Solid advice. I think Calvins form does look like shit although personally I think Ricky's looks pretty bad ass. Both monster disc golfers , but yeah I've noticed this. Barbsy, Luke humphries, Joel freeman and a few other pros have weird shitty looking form too I noticed.

      @@seekrdiscgolf Not bad at all, you just subscribe to a recipe for success that works for the normal body type. DG is still in it's infancy, you should be open to learning and teaching based on body type, not one recipe. Golf has been played for close to a thousand years, and folks are still revolutionizing the swing.
