    Love that you bring in the slowmo throwing standstill. I think that is one important aspect of the game that often is forgotten. Thanks!

    These are always great. Thanks for getting this footage.

    This is great. Only issue is the overhead video is not synched up with the others. Makes it a little confusing when pausing and examining where he’s at at different points of the throw. The overhead is often a little behind.

    Great clips! Suggestion to next similar video, make a big cross to the disc with black tape or something so that it can be seen when the disc really starts spinning.
    This would help understanding wrist movement.

    check the insane wrist curl at 2:04 in the top down view. it's almost overlapping his forearm. bonkers!

    500+ ft hyzer looks so effortless. Not many players can reach that kind of distance.

  • @OkieTradez

    looks like on flat throws and hyzer throws hes throwing the same angle on 400ft .. is he using a diff disc then?

    I have been working on the front foot so hard, I needed a video like this, thank you!

    He surprisingly has a pretty straight "reach back", most videos say it's best to get it in a "V" motion but it's cool to see he kind of makes up for it with moving his body out of the way so that he can hit the power pocket.

    • @seekrdiscgolf
      @seekrdiscgolf  2 года назад

      Agreed! There’s more than one way to do it.

      i think hes reaching back the same as the "V" reach back guys in terms of shoulder to chest angle. The idea of reaching out and away and not across your body. He is rotating so far around with his upper back that his outward extension is now behind him.

      @@michaelclarke1716Yea. It's still an out in out or V motion, but cuz you're rotating while doing this, it looks like a straight linear pull.
      And it is, the disc does more or less move along a pretty linear path starting at the reach back. I'm fairly convinced you can aim your disc's forward path by aiming your reach back.

    Feel like his plant foot as actually pointing slight forward towards the target a bit instead of being at 90 degrees to where he is throwing? Always thought that was a no-no but maybe its a mobility thing most people don't have

    Is there anyway you guys could get a slow mo of Gannon putting? I don’t understand how he is a pitch putter with the speed at which the disc leaves his hand.

      Slow motion from 240 fps to 29.94 fps :)

    Looks like he adjusts disc angle just with upper body. Disc height and angle on reach back all look the same.

    Need at least 60fps, ideally 120/240 if possible on a 30p timeline💯

    Some visual observations that not to many folks talk about based upon my perpetual quest to get 400 feet. NUMBER ONE - A four finger hold is an absolute necessity. Three finger holds won't cut it. NUMBER TWO - This does not get talked about much... You must curl the disc (disc almost touches forearm) when the disc approaches the pocket and gets released. Without the curl you don't get full snap/spin. Go to an open field and try it, the power increase is sick!

    Really funny how his plant foot is back away from the target but all the gurus say don't do that..

    • @samikuosmanen8057
      @samikuosmanen8057 Год назад

      All about your mobility. Most people tend to have problems with hip rotation if the plant foot is back away. Average disc golfers are not as flexible as Gannon.

    • @samikuosmanen8057
      @samikuosmanen8057 Год назад

      And with hip problems I meant turning your hips too early to be exact. There's few other pros who does this but amateurs should try to avoid it.

      I'm growing more and more convinced some of these rigid form philosophies are just dated and should be used as a 'general suggestion' in that they don't account for an individuals body proportions, mobility, flexibility, stability etc... and it should be encouraged to adjust as needed.
      It's similar to the gym world, there's general guidelines for how to set up for a deadlift, but depending on your body shape, bone lengths, muscle attachment points etc, you actually SHOULD set up slightly differently to maximize results and avoid injury.
      I see no reason why disc golf isn't any different.
