I was bent when a tattooist stole my design and inked it on someone else, because I thought it was lame that a professional wasn't enough of an artist to draw their own design and had to steal from a client. But it was over 30 years ago and I don't care anymore. I don't even like the tat that much anymore, if I didn't already have enough other ink that nobody notices it anymore, I'd probably get it covered. Not that it's a bad tattoo, just the subject of the tattoo isn't really my style anymore. But it's just one tattoo in a whole sleeve of tattoos. Nobody cares about it that much, not even me.

"get something you think is cool" is honestly top tier advice. My first tattoo was a lil design that just occurred to me one day and I thought "hey this'd be a sick fuckin tattoo" so I drew up a rough version and sent it to the artist I wanted to get it done by, it depicts a bunch of lil frogs chilling on a skull, and whenever someone asks "what's its meaning?" the only response I got is "I like frogs, and thought this looked cool."

My tattoo artist says he tattoos for the future, not what it looks like right after it’s done. Guy is incredible, very blessed to have a gifted artist by me. Love the content Kirk!

Good artist copy, great artists steal! Heard that quote a lot in art school. Art as a whole is built off of other's work. That's just how it's always worked. It's inevitable that if you post something good online, it's going to get copied. The only thing that really matters is who does it best.

O pierdo el cliente o hago algo similar pero robándolo. Es así como demanda alguna gente que sea el trabajo, y cuando el cliente entiende y de verdad busca algo del estilo del artista, ahí si uno puede ser original y creativo.

My first tat was a traditional dagger. I took some designs as reference to get tattooed and I thought he was gonna do one from scratch. What my dumb ass didn't realize is that it was a walk in appointment and by taking my design he was making an exception. So he was already pressed for time, and he did an amazing job. Honestly the thing with taking work is kind of 50/50 for me. If it is something straight off a flash, I personally don't think that is the most ethical thing to do. But if it has already been tattooed on someone, they've already been paid for their work so it's hard for me to say it's a bad thing copying the design. Plus its just a traditional dagger which is pretty far from the an original concept anyways. I'm not a tattoo artist by any means though, so you all would definitely know better than I do about stuff like that! Still prefer personal and original art work from the artist themselves, though. Always comes out way cooler.

Let's also remember they're only like 20 when they enter the league, think of all the stupid shit we all did when we were 20.

I’m in my early 20s, and went for it and got the back of my hand done (I already had a few tattoos on my arms before this) and I love it. This video definitely made points that I didn’t see before about hand work that for a moment, made me look down on my own hand for a minute, but I just ended up thinking, “don’t know why i am thinking so hard about it, I loved it then, now, and hopefully forever.”

id say maybe as a curtosy if you know it was tattoo artist that made it you reach out and ask or the client does before coming in but if you both dont care then go for it . I know mine doesnt care shes taken stuff of google images for me before to make stencils to gimme a choice.

Honestly, I feel like scale and placement are the biggest problems with it. I feel like somewhere the muscles don't shift as much, say a back, thigh, forearm even, would allow it to be seen clearly. I would suggest adding a frame as well, visually telling the viewer it was an artistic choice.
