    The second video of the girl crying is crazy because the person who got the tattoo replied and showed how badly she messed up.
    It wasnt just a bad tattoo either she scarred the girl up and it looks so bad.
    People have done some digging and Spriggs is not actually a trained tattoo artist and steals designs often.

    I hate how many people try to gatekeep tattoos. Some dude the other day was giving me a bad time about my tattoos, saying I only get them because I think they're cool. Like...yeah? Then he moved the goal posts after he said why he gets tattoos and I said that is the same reason I do. THEN he said I'm a 'poser' because I only have tattoos in easily visible places and HE didn't get tattoos below the elbow before he got his back and chest filled. Overall, he decided I'm a tattoo 'poser'(not a real thing) because he thinks I only get tattoos for other people to see. Like no, bro. Sure, it's fun to have conversations about my tattoos, but also other people's as well. I LOVE tattoos. Period. Always have. My tattoos are for me, and as such, I want them in places where I can see them. I'm not spending much time looking at my back. So that $1500 tattoo I just got? Yeah. It's on my arm so that I can see it every day lol.

      I completely agree with you and the part about being a poser for getting tattoos that you can’t hide especially irritates me. There are so many things wrong with that mentality.
      - If you get tattoos to hide them, you sound more like a poser than somebody who doesn’t
      - Tattoo culture is built around people who got tattoos because they like them, despite how they’re viewed by society. Gatekeeping other people for their choices in self expression absolutely flies in the face of the culture they love to pretend their apart of.
      - You don’t earn the right to wear your hand, neck and face tats by getting other tattoos first. You earn the right to wear a tattoo by sitting through the pain and getting it.
      I can’t comprehend how insecure you’d have to be in yourself and your own tattoos to try so hard to gatekeep other people from enjoying their own

      @@nuh-uhbro765 Exactly. Then he kept trying to call my tattoo "chick ink" because of the only one that is public on my profile, which is just a small linework tattoo. It was my first, and 5 years old lol. He kept asking to see the huge 8 hour piece I had brought up, which was in context of the video I commented on. I replied with a picture of it three separate times, and he ignore it, and just focused on my little lightbulbs. Both of which you can see on Kirk's viewer submission video. My forearm piece is huge. It takes up a majority of my forearm lol. But I guess that's chick ink.

    Tattoo removal 40 years ago - I had some type of acid tattooed into the skin and then silver nitrate placed/rubbed on. The acid broke down the ink and the silver nitrate then drew it out. Brutal way of doing it! It did remove the ink but also left some light scarring so now if I tan you can see the original outline of the tattoo as a scar 🙂 Luckily it was just a small tattoo on one of my fingers.

    Just to add there is a third option if you don’t like your design where you can get it reworked and a decent artist might be able to redeem the piece with some decent shading and more solid lines. So many people thinks it’s all or nothing when it comes to a tattoo that they don’t like but reworks are the wiggle room which can save a bad piece with good bones.

    Had to pause the video straight away, because I saw Filip leu.
    He tattooed my mum, she went to Switzerland from the UK about 18 years ago and what a beautiful tattoo she got. She sat for 12 hours, it's still one of the best ink I've ever seen and my stepdad is tatted by the world's best, Paul booth and so many more I'd be here all day.
    I got my forearm done by Dave Ayres (RIP, he died in a motorbike accident) he was one of the best in the UK and had worldwide recognition. My tat is 22 years old and still stands the test of time. I was only 14 (i can tell the story cause he's no longer with us) i was also tattooing myself at 10 with Indian ink and a needle, then cheap, shitty tats done by crappy people, so my stepdad drove me to Bristol to get inked.
    My mum was pissed at first because it covered my forearm, but she appreciated the artistry after she got over the shock 😂
    They're not together anymore, but he was a cool stepdad with a full body piece and two sick skulls on his head. 🤙

    The thing with mispelled tattoos is that it's not solely on the artist. The client okays the design and then okays the stencil. My artist also makes the client write any words down and spells it that way

    • @nuh-uhbro765
      @nuh-uhbro765 2 месяца назад +5

      Yeah it’s also common practice to make the client sign some kind of paperwork agreeing that the tattoo artist isn’t responsible for misspelled words, along with other unrelated things like infections due to poor tattoo care

      I think it is on the artist. This is their fuckin' job, where they're marking people for life, and getting paid a lot of money to do so. If a tattooer is worth their salt at all, then they'll make sure that shit is correct, because that's basically a walking business card. Also, the girl in that Tiktok majorly fucked the client up. She was never actually trained as a tattooer, at all, ever. And she was a rude cunt, who is just a shite "artist".

    • @miglek9613
      @miglek9613 Месяц назад +2

      The problem is that that tattoo artist completely botched that tattoo - the word was barely legible even before the misspelling, then she tried to "fix" the spelling mistake on a raw tattoo and dug in so bad it almost looked like tinted scarification in one spot. And that's on a black client, who may or may not scar more easily (apparently there's not been any scientific testing confirming this, it's just an observation stemming from some guy seeing more keloids on black people compared to white people. It's possible that black people don't scar more, they just have people rough them up more often, which is objectively true when it comes to medical settings)

And give suggestions for placement and planning if your intention is to collect tattoos over a long period of time. Should a person stick to one style or color scheme? I'm looking for tips on making sure my tattoo collection ends up looking cohesive and intentional without knowing what all the tattoos will be before hand. Thank you! Love your videos!

    The thing with patchwork tattoos and patchwork sleeves is that they're just smaller, more generic versions of a flash sleeve, or traditional sleeve. This girl's tattoos are all just simplified versions of images that have existed on flash sheets for decades, or a century at least. But they're just not really strong versions of those images, like the snake, heart or cherub. The tattoos might be done well and they seem to be from a distance, but they're also just very generic and likely came from Pinterest. But she got what she wanted and that's all that matters, and she was able to farm content to make more TikToks. Lol

      100% I just started getting tattoos about a year ago and I am so glad I didn’t get patchwork. I was trying to ask the tattooers in my shops how you build a sleeve and they wouldn’t give me any answer except basically patchwork. “Get a bunch of tattooes around each other. I had to take time to figure out what I want and I finally learned for myself that there are TYPES of sleeves you can create as a single plan, rather than patchwork. Can’t stand patchwork it doesn’t even look like a sleeve

    I really don't understand why anyone would have a problem with an American getting Chinese characters tattooed. That's the same thing as saying a Chinese person shouldn't get an English word tattooed on themselves because they're not part of the culture. It's a ridiculous notion that is borderline racist.

      I totally agree. But life is messy, and unfortunately, there are stereotypes and nuisances and whatnot. Kung Fu is very important to me, a person with 0% Chinese DNA, and I've wanted a tattoo that would be in Mandarin for a while. I don't need to have it, but I do want it. But I also know that it'd be fucking annoying for people to ask me what it means, if I speak Chinese, and make the classic "I bet that says egg roll" joke every day lol. Happens to my friend all the time. I'd be putting it off anyway, but that really makes me hesitate.

I only have patchwork bc when I started getting tattooed @ 18, I had no idea I'd still be getting tattooed in my 30s so sleeves weren't a thought of mine. I thought I'd get a few & be done. Now I'm 35 w/29 tattoos & always planning/saving for my next. I currently have 2 more tattoo sessions planned this year.
    I wish I had the forethought to plan out a sleeve but when I started getting tattooed in the EARLY 2000's that wasn't a popular as it is today. Js. Regardless, I'm proud of my tattoos & will continue to get more until I can't take the pain anymore.

    Genuine question. I'm kind of new to the tattoo world. What exactly is the difference between patchwork tattoos and simply having multiple tattoos and maybe some filler? This is the first Im hearing about this. Is it the size? The style? I have one arm that is a deliberately designed half sleeve, and the other is a growing collection of customs and flashes from different artists. Not once did I think I was doing anything other than... getting tattoos?

    Some tattoos are iffy if its a culture you aren't a part of. Like mori tattoos are a part of that family and their history or it is a mark of a cultural achievement and it is earned not just slapped on. There is a whole ritual involved as a group too.
    Same goes with most native religions and it is often considered disrespectful due to the history and why it is a closed religion in the first place

    Imo, if your getting something written on you it's just as much your responsibility as the customer to check that shit and double check it, every stencil or feehand ive had they have let me sit 20 mins to let the stencil dry and to check it out in the mirror, maybr just my experience here in Scotland idk...I'm not a tattooer but iv been in the chair for hours and hours..the "patchwork" stuff I'm not into the tiny almost " chewing gum fake tatts" that we got as kids, but on the other hand we all can't afford to get a sleeve in one go..so say 5 inch by 5 inch and gradually you have your sleeve although it must take alot of time if your going for 50£ tattoos to build a sleeve, you'll be still putting it together in 20 year if your on a small budget .

    Do you think it’s fair to ask for a refund if the tattooer misspelt your tattoo?

    • @kirkfagantattoo
      @kirkfagantattoo  2 месяца назад +3

      Yes it’s definitely fair to ask, But as a tattooer there’s very few circumstances that I would refund a misspelled word. It would have to be a situation where I never asked if it was spelled correctly or something like that, but personally I always double triple or quadruple check the spelling with the client.

    12:10 This is why I got my first tattoo somewhere I can hide it. If I don't like it. No one ever has to see it. Except when I go swimming. It's on my upper thigh. It will probably show a little bit in shorts too depending on the shorts. My tattoo is beautiful though so far...it's actually not finished yet. I don't think I'll ever regret it though

    The prob with patchwork is it is an undicator. Usually that you do t have money for full sleeve or that you lack the commuttment. Kinda indicates of other life ussues like drug addiction and unstability, in my life experience. Every girl ive ever dated with patch tattoos or face peurcung or both were all either hoes, druggies, psychos, or a combo of all 3 in diff amounts.... Just saying. At least on the east coast, esp NE where heroin is big (from Baltimore County) patchy tattoo girls AND guys are usual addicts or ex addicts

      I'm almost done with one black and grey American traditional style sleeve and I'm about to get my entire torso blasted, sticking with the traditional. I'm a blue collar, regular guy man and I kinda have a patchwork thing but that's what I wanted from the start. Just cause someone has patchwork doesn't mean they're an addict or something lol. I just save up extra cash and get a couple here and a couple there. But it's also the style I want so it works for me that I can go in and get a couple done. Traditional patchwork has been around for a long time and is and always has been popular with blue collar guys, sailors, and fans of the style

      @@JustTheTip556 there is a difference between building it into a sleeve tho and just.leaving it as weird.mismatched fridge sticker tatts.... Maybe its xause my area also. I mean Baltimore naturally has alot of addicts and psychos scattered about..... I mean I have a few shitty.patches too, but mine.are.from when I was.locked up. Wanna just get blackout bands to cover em, theyre that bad. So I know from experience about shit tattoos. Lol
