I fully agree. Bro I grew up with these games but Jesus Christ jak 2 has to be the worst game that graced the earth. The gameplay is simply ragebait and my fav series are the soulsborne games. Like literally did anyone play test this game or made anything in it in good faith

It will be bad camera angles that be the death of me, and the hover missions suck too simply because of all the other NPCs getting in the way

Team Bondi (the developer behind the game) ultimately disbanded after the game was released due to reports of poor working conditions (leading to Rockstar dropping them). Most of the IP was bought by KMM (an Australian Film Production company behind the Mad Max and Happy Feet films) where for a little while they worked on a sequel set in 1930s Shanghai (a super intriguing concept). Leaked early unfinished footage were leaked. However, in 2013, KMM canned their entire game studio division. Brendan McNamara, the former head of Team Bondi, ended up forming Video Games Deluxe studios which lo and behold ended up working on the LA Noire VR games.

I did not play this series as a kid because I never owned them, and usually had to play them at a friends house, now I want to play them as an adult.

I usually see it good on a visual scale and that's about it. Where as everything else game play will be said that the older titles have already done what this movie adaptation stitch together with my general gripe being that too much is recycled from older titles from the PS3 games. I know that there was some moving issues which is why they misplaced/lost some of there old work but the people behind the movie could've used the 1st, 3rd, SM, and Deadlock as enough reference material to use to sculpt there movie off of instead of ripping assets off of the entire PS3 library of RaC games to be genuine with the world that the first game resides in.

Too late?? NEVER. This masterpiece has barely aged and remains one of the most immersive detective games ever made. The atmosphere is perfect. The facial motion-capture still holds up and remains the greatest in the entire gaming industry. Each case is unique and not repetitive. Nothing feels out of the ordinary with twists that are strong but not too much to break the story or characters. It is dark, depressing, graphic, and above all, captivating. You really feel completely immersed in the City of Los Angeles in 1947-49. My only gripe is that the open world of the city is WAY too big for a game that offers not much. There’s just not that much to do. Sure, there are side crimes and collectibles, but they really don’t offer much replay ability or significant value other than grinding for completion. Kinda feels like Mafia II, a very linear story trapped in an open world. But the game clearly focuses on the main story and main cases, and that is where L.A. Noire truly shines and makes every cent and hour worth it. Still a masterpiece and still holds up well.

The power of L.A Noire it's that it makes me both nostalgic for the game itself but also the time it represents (peak America), even though I wasn't there... It's like playing through a dream.

Haven City felt so alive to me. It was crammed with enough npcs and side missions, never once did I think to myself it's too empty. That's 1 and 3.

Yeah I wasn't the biggest fan of Ratchet and Clank 2016. It just lost the soul the original trilogy had. It was supposed to be sort of a kids game, with adult humor kind of subtlely added in there. I enjoyed playing it, but the PS2 original is superior, even though it has worse gameplay. I know it's never going to happen, but a complete remaster/remake of the original would be phenomenal

I never played Jak 2 until recently after playing Jak 1 and the onky reason people think Jak 2 is good is nostalgia. The city setting is totally empty with nothing to do. The controls for driving are incredibly floaty and the story is pretty bland for half the game. Skip it.

Fr I played this game when it came out (My brother bought it for me for my birthday) and the mission in the water slums where you have to escape the huge ambush was legitimately a roadblock for me for about 6 months. I tried so many times I literally put the game down for 6 months and then came back to it and passed it on my second try. I WILL say though, I definitely disagree with a lot of your opinions on the game. Maybe it's just my nostalgia talking, but like idk man you kept complaining about things and then showing you goofing up directly. Still a good video, appreciate your take on the game!

I actually just finished playing this game again and had totally forgotten that it was even a movie tie-in. I had a friggin blast with it! I think that if you didn't know that it was a movie-game going in it would've been better received by some.

This game is really fun to play and I have played it multiple times, but they just obliterated Ratchet and Clank's personalities, AND their relationship (they almost never interact during the entire story), which is a major part of the franchise as a whole and I could never really forgive the game for that

Love this game but its ridiculously difficult for no reason

I played it like in 2007 as a 7 year old probably one of my first 5 games i ever played and i never beated it back then. Was stuck on many parts where my dad helped me but even he didnt beat the game lol I first beated the game with the ps3 collection Nowdays i Platinumed the game countless times also got 286 orbs on hero mode but its only because i know the game today just inside and out

I beat this back around 2011, and I remember really liking it. I do remember some of the escort flying missions being painful, but I remember the frustration being sparse, and really enjoying most of the game. Fuzzy memories though.

This game started out more or less how I wanted it, but aimed at 5 year olds, OG RnCwas aimed at a younger generation but wasn't catered for them. Cringe story and characters with a mashup of RnC 1 and 3 stories, which doesn't flow well, Ratchet and Clank had no development and were instantly best friends on sight. Gameplay was fine but the levels weren't enjoyable. I haven't even thought about playing an RnC game since playing this one not long after it released, this game soured the series for me. I'd only count on a legitimate remaster to enjoy the series again..

Sounds like a skill issue.... Not every game should be a walk in the park. I'm happy this game had a tad bit of difficulty, it makes the gameplay stick with you overtime. if 10 year old me was able to beat this game relatively easily, then maybe you are just not a true gamer lol

I can't remember where I read it, but I heard that Insomniac wanted to do a PS3 finale for R&C but looked at how much time they had left before the release of the PS4 and knew that they couldn't fit a full game in. So they made a half-sized game instead. I'm not sure why they didn't make it a cross-gen game, but I'd guess that they were experienced with the PS3 by then and it would have taken additional time to release it for PS4 as well.

Plenty of better options? Where are those? Battlefield is death in water since BF3, series like Crysis, Frontlines, Titanfall, Section 8, Fear and Perfect Dark are over, Battlefront got turned into different genre, we will never get another Transformers WfC, few indie game shooters even offer single-player, multiplayer & vehicle combat in one game. And outside of milsim shit - there is honestly not much else that offers the full package.

5:45 I love the Film Noir genre, and one thing that all of those movies have in common is that there are no good guys. Even the protagonists of those stories are in some way depraved. So, this also being the case in a game called 'L.A. Noire' comes as no big surprise to me. 😉

I’m playing it now and i have always loved this game. Don’t matter what it looks like now compared to other new games. This game holds the test of time. Its graphics were great for the time it came out. Wish a 2nd game would come out of a complete remaster of this with next gen graphics.

If the Jak and Daxter games ever get remakes, then Jak 2 needs more checkpoints. That would solve most of the issues.
