Gameplay was great, but the dialogue was terrible. It was not the same dialogue from the original game. The original was satirical in how it criticized consumerism, greed, and the characters had their own personal agenda. Ratchet went from a douche to a good guy.

It's near the end of 2024 and I can categorically say it's not too late to play LA Noire. I bought the game from a bargain bin during covid and then forgot I had it, and only started playing it a few months ago. Fell in love with the game instantly and loved every minute of it and felt deeply immersed in it like I have any other GTA game...even if I mostly sucked at the interrogation system hahaha.

I beat this at 12yo after ratchet and clank and tak2... it was only super hard when you try a no gun run

It's late november in 2024 & i will start L.A. NOIRE for the first time EVER (on PS5 Pro) - everyone is telling you this is an absolute masterpiece so ....... better late than never i think xD

It’s far from bad. But out of the other games, it has the weakest writing IMO. Nothing baffling or anything, but it’s just so safe and standard on the storytelling and character side of things, doing nothing to aim higher than the tropes it made fun of back in the original game. But it still has a lot of funny moments and quips, and the gameplay is solid on all fronts. It more than makes up for the sub par storytelling.

No way, it plays well. Gives a nice late 40s, early 50s vibe of unknown criminal activity behind what is happening.

Ratchet and clank 1 was my first ever video game and I grew up with the franchise. So when the reboot came outI hated it because it took the lore that I so desperately loved, crumpled it up, and threw it in the trash. I was devastated 😢. It made me relive #notmyrodrick

What other game allows you to play Tucker Carlson as a cop, an investigator, who’s named Cole? If you ever wondered what it would be like to play Tucker as a cop, then you’re in luck! This game is brilliant and allows you to use Tucker’s steely eyes gaze to cut the chaff from the wheat, the innocent bystander from the offending criminal. Getting to the game, itself, you’d be hard pressed to criticize it, for the graphics are still strong, the voice acting and acting are good to very good, and the atmosphere of 1940’s L.A. just oozes off of the screen. So, do yourself a favor and fire up this game after watching the film, ‘L.A. Confidential.’ You won’t be sorry, believe me.

Whatever flaws it has, I still play it. It’s one of my favorites.

Absolutely love this video and I can relate to you on all points but the one aspect that pissed me off the most is anything that involved using those damn vehicles, especially timed, dear lord I would get so pissed. I enjoyed the story and the combat and was never really bothered by the color of the game. Love this game and franchise regardless of any gripes I have with it and will forever be one of my favorite IP's ever.

I totally agree with this video. Well done one too. I liked this game a lot, the gameplay is its core... and nothing else. Platinumed it very recently, but damn it was fun, the story is nothing remarkable, and the characters aside from Nefarious, Elaris and Qwark (mostly the way he talks not as a character) were just nothing really special, not even Ratchet and Clank, they just killed them, I think the director just fucked up very much. The movie is also not bad, as I watched it with a different mentality, it was clearly made for children, so i enjoyed it very much, without caring too much about details. Not very memorable as a game, not even as a movie yeah, but its still good game and people its just exagerating. Of course 2002 its pure perfection for me but I dont despise this one at all.

I fully agree. Bro I grew up with these games but Jesus Christ jak 2 has to be the worst game that graced the earth. The gameplay is simply ragebait and my fav series are the soulsborne games. Like literally did anyone play test this game or made anything in it in good faith

Team Bondi (the developer behind the game) ultimately disbanded after the game was released due to reports of poor working conditions (leading to Rockstar dropping them). Most of the IP was bought by KMM (an Australian Film Production company behind the Mad Max and Happy Feet films) where for a little while they worked on a sequel set in 1930s Shanghai (a super intriguing concept). Leaked early unfinished footage were leaked. However, in 2013, KMM canned their entire game studio division. Brendan McNamara, the former head of Team Bondi, ended up forming Video Games Deluxe studios which lo and behold ended up working on the LA Noire VR games.

I did not play this series as a kid because I never owned them, and usually had to play them at a friends house, now I want to play them as an adult.

I usually see it good on a visual scale and that's about it. Where as everything else game play will be said that the older titles have already done what this movie adaptation stitch together with my general gripe being that too much is recycled from older titles from the PS3 games. I know that there was some moving issues which is why they misplaced/lost some of there old work but the people behind the movie could've used the 1st, 3rd, SM, and Deadlock as enough reference material to use to sculpt there movie off of instead of ripping assets off of the entire PS3 library of RaC games to be genuine with the world that the first game resides in.

- agrees textures from 3DS are so superior they’re considered definitive edition - this mod doesn’t use them, thereby looks way shittier (still a N64/ GameCube game tbh) - the game was clearly not designed to ever be played in 60+ fps, the movements of quite literally everything look awkward, unnatural and sped up. Don’t get why people give blind praise to any soulless project

Too late?? NEVER. This masterpiece has barely aged and remains one of the most immersive detective games ever made. The atmosphere is perfect. The facial motion-capture still holds up and remains the greatest in the entire gaming industry. Each case is unique and not repetitive. Nothing feels out of the ordinary with twists that are strong but not too much to break the story or characters. It is dark, depressing, graphic, and above all, captivating. You really feel completely immersed in the City of Los Angeles in 1947-49. My only gripe is that the open world of the city is WAY too big for a game that offers not much. There’s just not that much to do. Sure, there are side crimes and collectibles, but they really don’t offer much replay ability or significant value other than grinding for completion. Kinda feels like Mafia II, a very linear story trapped in an open world. But the game clearly focuses on the main story and main cases, and that is where L.A. Noire truly shines and makes every cent and hour worth it. Still a masterpiece and still holds up well.

The power of L.A Noire it's that it makes me both nostalgic for the game itself but also the time it represents (peak America), even though I wasn't there... It's like playing through a dream.

The only mission that gave me trouble when this game came out was the escape the slums one because i intially went in with low ammo and no dark eco

Haven City felt so alive to me. It was crammed with enough npcs and side missions, never once did I think to myself it's too empty. That's 1 and 3.
