I'm a 47 year old software developer and I have just recently bought a brompton. It has been more than 10 years ago that I last sat on a bike and even back then, I wasn't really into it (it was a very cheap, regular bike). The brompton has changed my life quite a bit. I used to do almost no "exercising", just watching TV every evening. On weekends I wouldn't know what to do with my free time. With the brompton, I started to ride to the train station instead of taking the bus. I then can take the brommie on the train to get to the office. And in my free time I can take a train to wherever I want, take the brommie with me and ride at the destination city. That's an incredible feature! But even in my own city, I have found many places I never seen before or wasn't aware of, just by exploring with the brompton. This bike reminds me of my very first bike I had as a kid in the 1980s. It's like cycling for fun, for strolling around, exploring, relaxing, even having this "zen" like moments. The brompton gives me back this very feeling that I had back in 1985. Hard to tell what it is, but there's just something about the brompton that makes me want to ride it all the time. I have even become to embrace (little) hills a bit. Still struggling with them but it gets better. Oh, and I really like your videos. You are really showing that people who are not super sportif, and super trained and "cool", can have fun with cycling, and enjoy it.

I live in Switzerland and recently visited Freiburg im Breisgau with my Brompton. I can really recommend it, it has an incredible bicycle infrastructure. And it's a lovely town. Only 40 minutes by train from Basel.

I honestly wouldn't even think, dream (have a Nightmare!) about riding a Brompton 206 miles in a day (For how many expected hours?), as a Brompton is primarily intended for use as folded - during Transport, and not at all for riding! But my own much modified Superlight is now down to below 9 kilo (still with mudguards), what's left of it, after I have changed most to titanium and carbon parts, but definitely: Respect! 😄 Finn. Love your channel! Glad you put clipless pedal on ! Personally I like Shimano SPD XT pedal and Shimano XC 90 shoes so you can still walk normally ( somewhat! ).

About mopeds on the bike path this is an inheritance of the past we’re in a transition phase at the moment mopeds with an yellow insurance plate aren’t allowed blue ones are for now. I haven’t seen fat bikes in this video they should definitely be on the main road, fast, and silent a combination that guarantees accidents.

Bike lanes should share surface with sidewalk, not with road.

They use the bricks more inside cities and towns and outside it becomes asphalt so you feel in what kinda area you are like outside towns youre car glides and then you enter town and its more bumpy and certainly with the speedbumps and level crossings and all :D. And the containers look short there is like two or three times the space below them. notjustbikes has a amazing video about them.

I think its cause the guy wants to be able to walk. I dont believe you sghould be allowed to drive a car but you should give every piece of respect for pedestrians unless they are driving a car.

As a south Bellevue resident really excited for the next two segments that will connect everything together! Crazy idea... but I wonder if they could have phased the i90 bridge portion to open early as a interim gravel path to use while they fundraise and plan the full paved 2030 project? The track removal has to happen at some point anyway, right? Safety-wise the bridge already had tall sides and a floor. Is the expense/complexity of the 2030 project repainting the bridge? I remember someone mentioning, however, that completing the Kirkland portion of a gravel path might have been problematic in hindsight since it is more difficult to get funds to upgrade it to paved later on. Something about new trails getting better public support and easier to fundraise for than trail upgrades?

Thanks for the update! I enjoy riding Eastrail on loop rides from the Seattle side where I live. It's so nice to have miles of separated trail. I haven't put the whole thing together but rather ride either the south section or the north section with one of the floating bridges for the return. I've ridden the new bridge a couple of times and really appreciate the extension from the north. I managed to figure out a dodgy way to proceed generally toward the west from the new south end of the trail at NE 4th St mentioned in the video. I used NE 4th St, 108th Ave NE, and Main St. It doesn't have bike lanes the whole way and I did end up partially on sidewalks (riding slow), including one long block of riding on a very wide somewhat steep uphill sidewalk in downtown Bellevue. If there's a better way to do this I'd love to learn about it. Bellevue can be really intimidating without bike lane continuity. Thanks for the news that the steel bridge segment over I-90 has some funding! I just noticed the steel bridge on a recent ride. I still find I need to ride on the street next to Coulon Park on Lake Washington Blvd N between the north end car entrance to Coulon Park and N 33rd St in Kennydale. As rides on the street go, I'd say it's ok, not great, not horrible. I'm looking forward to the eventual completion of the south end of the trail to connect to Houser Way N somehow hopefully.

I can tell you're really getting a move on, but you might've been able to tell most people don't cycle here the way you do in the video. They're just cruising on their bikes. Roughly 20km/h is a speed most people can and do keep for a very long time

Three years ago I brought my bike with me from San Diego. I started in Wallingford from my daughter's house riding the Lake Washington loop after passing the 520 freeway I was totally confused how to get to the I90 bridge. I ended riding on Bellevue Way and almost got on the I90 freeway 😨. Now I know a way safer route through Bellevue.......thanks for the great ride videos, definitely will be using them whenever I'm riding in Seattle. Go Eliel Factory Team!

This ride goes right past my house! I love the chilly hilly. Never ridden in it, but it makes me happy seeing everyone else riding. Maybe next year!
