I've both a trail bike and a gravel one. Although the trail bike definitely is more capable off road, the gravel one is so much more efficient when it comes to climbing.
Have you hiked Poo Poo Point before? Did you know about this route? What did you think of my ride? Any advice for me on how to handle off-road descents? Where should I ride next?
I've hiked the Chirico trail up to Poo Poo Point several times over the years, but never biked there. It's a nice hike, only 3.6 miles round-trip, but you do run into a lot of unprepared day hikers that are struggling with the rocks and switchbacks. Are you riding up the West Side Road? It looks very different from the trails.
I enjoy all types of bikes but my Gravel and my XC bikes are my favorites, so I am happy to see you enjoying some off-road fun. Best way to get better at downhill is just keep working on it and getting comfortable with your tires, and their capabilities. I do have a question. What type of bike were you on? Looks like it might be a Scott Scale.

You should try the Thrilla in Woodinvilla loop. If you do it clockwise you "get" to go up the aptly named Heart Attack Hill.
Mountain biking will make you a better overall cyclist! So much good singletrack in WA state

I’ve hiked it several times from the main parking lot off of Issaquah Hobart road but never thought of biking in. Still not thinking of it 😂
What kind of brompton is that? How did you fit such big wheels on it?
Joking aside, that looked fun!

Yesss I think it's a Scott Scale! I'm just borrowing it from a friend who has a lot of other bikes to choose from xD
Hiked jt years ago…took the shorter and steeper route
I didn't even know there's two routes.
What grade is this? Only like 15 percent. 😂
