A really nice video, Hanoch. The best part of RSVP is what Jasmine said, it's the group you're with. It looks like the finish line has improved since CBC finished in the park. It wasn't that long ago, we finished at the plaza hotel, where it truly was an exclusive party for the riders and their families and friends. Next year, my friend.😊
I think I'll ride it again next year and hope the weather is much better. After 10 miles on day one, I bailed and started volunteering at the various rest stops and in Bellingham. Left my car in B'ham and had a great day riding to Vancouver. Weather was perfect the second day!
No. For a few reasons. 1. The finish line is underwhelming and feels like an after thought. 2. The lack of organization at the finish line makes for a messy finish to the ride. There is no shoot, no person handing out patches. Very little choice for food. 2a. as a side note, the stickers were a complete let down this year. It's not like the ride is different every year, 1 day or 2 day patches. It is the same event and date every year. The patches could be ordered a year in advance. 3. The mid-August timeline is historically bad weather for the PNW. If they did this ride in the beginning or end of August, the weather is historically better.
Wait what why would you not want to ride in Canada? What is wrong? And why are there 2 roads there? It almost looked like a perfect Dutch bike path situation.
Wait first you don't want to cross the ditch and then you wo want to cross the border in a queue? Are you not allowed to hike or bike free if there is no fence?
Haha that's not the official border crossing. USA and Canada share a long unprotected border. You'll get in huge trouble by the governments by doing an illegal crossing if that makes sense. I realize in the EU you probably don't have to think of this sort of thing.
@@BestSideCycling Even with Brexit we are allowed to swim the channel (if we dare) But yes I always assumed that without walls and fences there was some sort of understanding between your countries that alows a hiker and perhaps also cyclists to cross freely back and forth!
Yeah, even with the USA and Canada being such close allies it's not the case! One famous story of a person who went on a jog accidentally too far and went straight to prison a couple hundred miles away. Border security definitely has tightened since the days of 9/11 but nothing compared to USA's southern border of course.
Best weekend ever!!
Kudos to you too!
