    Hy. Do u have any idea what problem i might have. 1995 5.2l limited. Question: my Od doesnt work. It goes in the 3rd gear and stays there. If i shift manual it works rly smooth. 1,2, od(3) and R. But if i have a gear in (loudest on R) the transmission makes some noise. So. If its an electrical problem. Why the sound? If its a mechanical problem. Why does it work so smooth with manual? Kind regards and thank you for the good video

    • @MotorsandMischief
      @MotorsandMischief 4 дня назад

      The 44RE locks out 4th anytime the computer senses a problem. It could be something like the computer is sensing a different speed on the torque converter than the output shaft and in OD they should be the same, so it will lock it out to protect the transmission. Anytime it has an issue, it will flash the OD light on the dash. Get a code reader and see what codes its thrown for the transmission. That will point you in the right direction and hopefully allow you to get it fixed without too much trouble. Unfortunately, noises from the transmission are almost always a bad thing, but start with the codes and go from there.

      @@MotorsandMischief thanks man! Love you guys! What does his Raptor get mpg? I have a full crew cab with 33’s and a Roush Supercharger and Roush exhaust. Get 9.5-10 mpg avg. drive a lot city…don’t step on the super charger too much. Was curious. Also has he messed with the Roush diagnostic software at all via the OBDII port? Roush telling me that is what needs to be used. I don’t have a laptop for it yet and was wondering if he uses it or just a regular scanner? Did he get his tuned after the supercharger somewhere to lean it out or was it stock Roush tune? Which I hear is still kind of protective and can be tuned better.

    • @MotorsandMischief
      @MotorsandMischief 12 дней назад

      I did! It was in one of the hoses for the rear AC, so bypassing it solved the problem. Turns out there's a protective sleeve over the hoses, and somehow mine started leaking inside that protective sleeve, which made it really hard to pinpoint because there was no visual evidence. Finally found it when the sniffer went off near the end of the sleeve (which is near other hard lines in the system) and finally got it to go off reliably by sticking it in the end of the sleeve.

    Is there a way to completely flush out the air trapped at the top end of inverted filter housing? The trapped air tends to lessen the useable surface area of filter element unless there is a way out for the air as it is being primed initially during start up. Just asking.

    The lifters fail due to lack of oil changes and using inferior oil/filters from quick lube places and running long @ss oem suggested oil change intervals resulting in sludge buildup that finds its way into lifters causing them to bleed down after oil pressure is released. The higher pressure internal bypass of the can style filter traps more trash for longer before the filter is restricted causing full bypass that stops the oil from being filtered. Is it a good idea to use air pressure to force the trash thats trapped in the oil filter back into the oil pan at oil changes? I'd say no!

    • @MotorsandMischief
      @MotorsandMischief 24 дня назад

      "Pushing the trash into the oil pan... " you mean to the oil pump where its picked up and run back through the filter? How do you think the trash is getting into the engine if it gets pushed back into the pan? You think it migrates over to the crank cause it happens to be in the neighborhood? That's not how it works. The air pressure is very light, you need like 7 pounds to clear out the oil, most of the "trash" is going to stay in the filter media anyway. But any that does is just going to sit harmlessly in the pan until it gets sucked back up by the oil pump and sent back into the filter. There is no issue here. And yes, we agree with you 100% that lack of oil changes and using cheap oil causes the lifters to fail. As we've said over, and over and over, and as we'll say again, we don't think this solution is a magic wand for your lifters; we think it is a good, smart step that will probably increase the life of the engine, along with regular oil changes and along with using good oil.

    Could this be why my air seems to blow harder than other times? It truly feels like sometimes my air blows really hard and other times its not as hard. No issues with the ducts or anything. I did the resistor replacement already, is it possible that the blower motor has an issue from the old resistor getting hot and having the burned look that they get? If so i will just get a new blower motor.

    • @MotorsandMischief
      @MotorsandMischief 24 дня назад

      Its really hard to tell without being there to mess with the truck with you, but if your ducts are all cleaned like we showed in the video, our next step would be to diagnose if the blower motor regulator was sending proper voltages to the blower. If so, we'd probably throw a new blower at it. Good luck!

    Anyone know a good method to just get the window closed and watertight again without doing the full repair? Ripping out the headliner seems like it could be a total disaster if you F it up. Mine jumped the stops when opening it straight back all the way and now it's wedged open and won't go forward. I almost never use the sunroof and I'd be happy just to button this up tight closed as long as it looks okay from the inside and outside.

    • @MotorsandMischief

I'm in the process of collecting all the tools I need and I'm going to try and get some time in my brother's machine shop and get some help before I attempt this. Drilling out rivets and buying the right rivet gun to re-rivet it probably the tough part above my experience level.
