Thank you it worked on my Latitude 5400 office laptop

I had a laptop down for 6 months. The computer decided not to boot. No no KB lights and nothing on the screen. I did have blinking lights on the front of the laptop. I had purchased a warranty at the time of purchase from Amazon and had filed a claim. I was not able to work on it until today. I had sensitive data on the laptop. I followed the example in this video and the laptop started to turn on. Thank you.

Excellent! Worked like a charm. Thanks so much. Unfortunately, the same issue keeps repeating itself. Won't start, take back off, disconnect battery, hold power, fixed. Then days later dark again. Any ideas what is causing this? Thanks

With open lead put your laptop upside down. Doesn't have to be fully open. Just upside down. Now with power cord disconnected press power button for minimum 30 seconds. Put your laptop back to upward position. Connect your power supply to your laptop. You should now see the power light on your laptop somewhere. Press power button and laptop should get up. I belive there is a sensor inside the laptop which always knows when laptop is Up or upside down position. Now with combination of procedure above it resets some power components, don't ask me why. In my case once laptop get power back up I noticed my battery was completely drain si it looks even in default conditions it still needs to have some power in the batter for start up and it did not matter the power cable was connected or not. Why? Hmmm, looks like Dell does not want to use longer your laptop then the warranty it has and is asking you to contact and pay for extended service/warranty.... just my guess. 😎

Is there an explanation regarding why this works? Is this a permanent fix or will it happen again? Please anyone who has info in these 2 questions let us know. Thank You

Unfortunately even with this my laptop didn’t start. I’m going to try just taking out the battery and seeing if it will run on wall power.

This worked for me. I also had to disconnect the clock battery. but the problem comes back after a while.

Wow. WTH. I already desperate at the beginning. But I follow it anyway and it doesn't work. Maybe I didn't press it to long I said myself. Then I press the button longer and... Voila It's work! 😮 On my old Dell E5470 without battery.

I have a Dell 7390 2in1 laptop which I rarely use since I upgraded my work laptop to a Dell 5320 2in1. I did exactly as per your video in mid November 2023 - it worked. I was happy. 3 weeks later (mid December 2023) I tried to use the laptop - the problem was back. So I tried the trick a few times without success. So I bought a new battery. The problem went away. On the 8th of Jan 24, I tried to use the laptop - it won’t boot up. I plug the dc cable, the power LED comes on for few seconds and goes off. I’ve tried the trick over and over - no success.. I’m suspecting the CMOS battery could be a suspect - what do you guys think?

Worked perfectly! I'm sure the problem was caused by leaving it plugged in for long periods when it wasn't in use.

Did you have it tuned to crackle or no?

what if u have a Dell Precision laptop where it doesn't have a battery and when u plug it in, it flashes a orange battery light without tha battery turned on? mine's a Dell Precision M6800

on a 2.7 theyre decent, on a 1.8t k04 is a complete waste of time
