    The purpose of not adding boost during this tune is to first see if there is a noticeable power difference with just timing advancement. We will continue to move up the stage ladder accordingly!

      Why did you stop making the fire content?): ive seen all your videos and love em and the B5 would love to see what else youve done to it if anything!

    The video turned out great Chris. It’s been great working with you so far and I’m looking forward to tuning the car through the stages. Keep up the great work.

    going from stock to a tune in these cars is unreal by far the best thing you can do to them. makes you fall in love with the car all over again

    I ran my k03s with a 20 psi spike taper to 17 psi on an OG Daz tune. Ran fine for a year only issue is it made so much more power it smoked the clutch

    • @andyreed4960
      @andyreed4960 6 лет назад

      Also I'm not understanding why you wouldn't run more boost? What is the limiting factor that would keep someone from running more timing but no boost

    • @boostbook3747
      @boostbook3747  6 лет назад

      Andy Reed the purpose was to first see if there is a noticeable difference with just timing advancement as many say there is. Once we test that, we go to stage 1 and so on. I'm definitely looking forward to add some boost after this test.

    • @andyreed4960
      @andyreed4960 6 лет назад +2

      Boost Book the difference is you already have a turbo back exhaust. You dont have a completely stock car. I ran a stage 2 tune with just diverters and piggie pipes. It ran a basic stage 2 tune with no issue. I understand your goals. However since you dont have a stock exhaust you aren't comparing apples to apples. You already have a much freer flowing exhaust

    • @boostbook3747
      @boostbook3747  6 лет назад +3

      Andy Reed I do agree with this although I should still be able to notice a power increase either way. I can go right to stage 3 and call it a day. But for the sake of the channel and trying to make interesting content, I felt "working through the stages" would be most interesting for my viewers.

    You’re smart to tune step by step.

    I remember when I got a tune on my 02 s4 back in 05. Exhaust and tune, best mod I've ever done. Sometimes I wish I kept the car. Mid 05 I sold it. I may come back into s4s. I thought about rs4 b7 as well. I just prefer turbo cars.

    Interesting, I don't think I've seen anyone try to test only timing advance. I'm pretty sure you are going to notice the change from the boost the most. Not so sure about the NLS and anti-lag...then again I'm a father and an old(ish) fart; drag racing and flames from my exhaust don't really do it. :-) It's good you don't have cats to melt, but I don't know about the stress on the turbos and exhaust manifold which is cast iron.

    • @boostbook3747
      @boostbook3747  6 лет назад +1

      All going to be replaced in the near future so for the little bit that I'll use anti-lag i'm cool with it!

    I’m interested why you decided to code out the EGT and O2’s out only after fixing the EGT? I assumed they were a good fail safe if your engine were to run poorly. But loving the content still dude. Keep it up!

    Just a question, Why the cluster has the old badge, and the car's back has the new? Is this came out like this from the factory?

    • @boostbook3747
      @boostbook3747  6 лет назад

      Good question, no it is not. My old OEM badge is worn out and faded. Unfortunately they are no longer in production. I put a new one on just for time sake. I will buy a used OEM one eventually.

      i've had mine for 2 years...only left me sitting when the stock fuel pump failed...they are more reliable than people let on

    • @iceman4154
      @iceman4154 6 лет назад +1

      I have had a a4 b5 2.8L for about 4 years and I have had very minor issues, valve cover, suction pump, PCV hoses. I've had a s4 b5 for about a year and I've had minor misfire issues and a creaky suspension. They are more reliable than their reputation and you can get them for decently cheap.

      Hey, what I do is have a separate account that I deposit money into biweekly just for my S4. So whenever I want upgrades and fixes done.....I know what I'm working with
