Keep up the filming! I live vicariously through your channel rather than buying a B5 S4 myself haha

Not just when you lower your car, but with smaller ET rims. I bought RS6 rOnal rims, with an ET43 (8j), and because of the brake, I cannot install it. But the hub is 12mm on the car, so the minimum wheel spacer with a hub which can go on the S4 B5 is 13mm, which means ET30. But luckily, the previous owner took care of the fenders... :)

The First clip with the gashed tire happened to me on the highway . I got a pinky finger width of the side tread taken out of my michelin pilot sport s. I was fuming for the rest of the 200 mile trip. I definitely need to roll my fenders when I don't have to do the commute back home, for now its back to my stock alloy wrx wheel setup 😥.

This is why I went with a 0.5" drop, which is what was done for the RS4. :) I also worry some about changing the suspension geometry that much. I already have thick anti roll bars which will affect camber under cornering along with the effective spring rate. If I'm thinking this through right, under cornering the outside front wheel (which is taking most of the weight transfer) is going to pull the inside wheel more negative camber as the loading is transferred to the inside to assist the outside. Lowering the car can pull the camber in this situation out of a reasonable camber range. They sell adjustable upper links for the front to help this, but I can't recommend them as the ball joints really are designed for racing and not street durability. But then again, what do I really know here. :)
What size did you go with? My general opinion is that a 235 width in the front is the most one should do, even rolled. After that you are looking at RS4 fenders and we know how expensive that gets. You can likely do a 245 in the rear or maybe a 255 is you are lucky. But given the nature of this car to under steer, I wouldn't recommend that.

Peter Harren Interesting point on the camber around corners. As far as tires go, im on 235/40/18

That's a pretty common size for sure. I'm presuming you also have the proper offset.

What suspension components did you use to get your 0.5" drop?

@@ethantrombley3665 Coil Overs. Basically a stiff spring with a shock that has an adjustable spring perch; usually the bottom one. In my case, like many, the lower perch is essentially nut that can be spun up or down the shock which is acting like a bolt. Mine are from Eibach. Tirerack still has them as Special order for $1k, but there are others. The Eibachs are pretty good value for money and Eibach has been around for a while.

You need new shocks too or coilovers because sport springs alone are not enough and b5 s4 needs rolled fenders unless your tires r 225 35off set wheels..
