You called dodgers in 5 perfectly

Its very important to understand that baseball is a business. Shohei plays for free for dodgers, he is bringing atleast a billion dollars in the next ten years via the japanese market. Steve cohen founded a hedge fund, he knows way better then anyone else that shohei was an investment both financially and from a pure game perspective. With all due to respect soto is never gonna outearn his contract, he aint bringing 50-60 million/year via sponsors for the team and mega TV deals in a country like japan. If even for a moment steve thinks from a business perspective, he aint gomna entertain paying way out of his regards for soto, now if he only thinks from the love of the game/fan perspective, he would spend his bank on getting soto. Mets are already -300 million dollars on operating income and is spending more then their earnings for the last 4 years, this aint sustainable forever. You gotta build a team and spend wisely on building a championship team.

Three things to say.... 1. Without Shohei, Dodgers might not even make the playoffs. Their pitching staff was DECIMATED by injuries, and SD and ARI were two of the best teams in MLB post all star break, and each made a furious run at the NL West title. 2. A question for Samantha and Ashley, can you two become fulltime Dodgers fans, and switch the podcast to "Why Am I a Dodgers Fan?" Because I love the Dodgers and this podcast! 3. Is it just me, or does Samantha look like Lady Mary Crawley from Downton Abbey?

The pitcher was exhausted he throws hard man it wears you out . I did demolition work . Swinging a sledgehammer or a pick axe takes a toll man . The dude (the yanks pitcher was throwing his soul into it ) You can’t blame him he was running on fumes

The Dodgers weren’t even supposed to beat the Padres (according to ESPN “experts”). The Dodgers proved their mettle this year.

First time listening, gained a new subscriber. Got very positive impressions from the podcast.: the rhythm is great, insightful and relevant commentaries, really funny and entertaining. The co-host know their shit and the fact they speak from a 'Mets fans' perspective doesn't hurt. The Mets probably will get Soto, he's not in love with the Yankees and the fans don't really love him. Objectively, they're panicking and need him to stay to keep within arms reach of the WS in the future. In an alternative world, where Judge happened to be as dominant during the post, as he is in the regular season, you would not be seeing Yankees fans as desperate as they are, now. Tragically, in that same alternative world, the Yankees would easily sign up Soto. Not trying to be a hater, but Judge underachieving when it matters the most will be the second reason behind Soto leaving the Yankees, first one being the money. Why would he stay there? He's not going to be the face of the franchise, he's not getting the team to win it all by himself. As if not winning wasn't bad enough, he will be condemned along with the team for it, eventually. All in all, the money factor should be the defining one to sign Soto. Not only his bag, but the resources each team would have at their disposal after signing him (the Yankees and the Mets already made clear how they feel about overspending). So, who's most likely to build a Dodger' slayer team around Soto? I'd say the Mets are.

Boxing, NFL, NHL fan here. Ohtani is the reason i now tume into MLB.

Even if Ohtani doesn't get a unanimous vote it won't diminish anything he has done. It'll say a lot more about the person holding out. And that might be reason enough for that person to do it.

I’ve been spending my early offseason watching Yankees fans reactions to game five, especially THE fifth inning. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. As I’m watching these meltdowns I can’t help but think of Ashley’s initial reaction to that game and how that healed something in her, and how Samantha said it cured some childhood trauma in her. Man, that is still one of my favorite podcasts. And it made me a follower of this entertaining channel. Keep up the good work girls.

Ohtani WAR 9.2 vs Lindor WAR 6.9 Adjusts for DH/Shortstop iirc so Ohtani's performance was just far and away more statistically significant than Lindor's combined Bat and Glove

As a dodger fan wasn't worried about the Mets.. It was San Diego.. Because they will always see themselves in the shadow of the Dodgers.. All the Mets need now is to open the purse strings more.. now with Juan Soto they have a Season and a playoff clutch hitter ..

He sucked in the postseason which i think should count but it doesn’t. Ohtani had higher fwar and bwar than lindor. Both stats include defense.

well ohtani won by unanimous, end of story. Though dodgers team was stacked, i dont think they would have done enough to get to series without shohei. The padres and mets would be the better team since freeman didnt really play at all until the series. Mookie was out for like almost half the season and same as freeman, dodgers overall great team but to many injuries and shohei saved them day by day carrying the team. Only ohtani and teoscar was doing well consistently so yeh

Ohtani played the entire season with an injured elbow, recovering from TJS. Don't forget that.

Pete Alonso is over rated. I think the Mets can find a better 1st baseman with all their money.

Good job ladies!!!! The Padres and Mets scared me. The yankees....not so much after game 1. Even after the yankees went up 5-0....the Dodgers fans I know, we always believed....the game was not over, therefore...there's still a chance!!!! Thankfully the baseball gods felt the same way and we won!!!! Again...great reviews!!! Also...my first little league baseball team was the Mets and the history of the team colors of the Mets is very cool!!!!! Take care!!!

I love Lindor, and I hate the heated discussions requiring you to pick only one side. I just think the gap offensively between the two is too great (.200 OPS diff is a big diff). But I have no issues with Lindor getting some MVP votes. Both are top notch players
