You two are the modern versions of Laverne and Shirley for me. I cannot help but think of them, every time I watch an episode of yours. Grant it, I was a huge fan of that show and watched it religiously for years. LOL... How about those Mets tearing up ballparks. LOVE IT! LGM!
Happy Tuesday ladies, and congratulations on 1000 subscribers! As one of your original subscribers it makes me proud. You ladies deserve all the credit and thank you for your wonderful podcast. LFGM!!!
R.I.P. to Ed Kranepool (1944-2024). An original New York Met, who played on both the 1969 World Champion Miracle Mets and the 1973 Ya' Gotta Believe World Series team.
Some people, like Iglesias, are just cool under pressure. As a previous athlete, I could get over the nervous hump and get beyond it by just dismissing the pressure in my mind. Once you get there, you are in a calmer, quieter place and can lock in and focus.
Alvarez or Torrens? As the meme says, "Why not both?" Just found your channel, had to stop when I saw a Mets and Syracuse flag. I went to Newhouse back in the day and lifelong Mets fan. Wishing you all the best going forward!
If Fuji has control consistently he could be a great asset in 25' as another backend/closer role because he throws hard. Him with Nunez, Garrett, Riley, Zuber, Maton, both Youngs and Diaz of course, could make a great bullpen next year. Maybe Butto too if they decide to keep him in the bullpen. Not sure if that's too many arms in the pen though, but it feels about right.
The Mets have recently done a great job of honoring their old timers only since the Cohens took over. Before that, they did a great job of honoring the Wilpons’ childhood heroes the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Both catchers deserve playing time. Alvarez frames better than anyone but Torrens has had a better bat, and an absolute cannon behind the plate. All these things you ladies alluded to. Although Alvarez is our future so should keep getting the majority of the starts behind the plate.
Saw Fujinami pitch 2 perfect innings on Sunday, looked GOOD. He’s struggled with control (understatement) since coming over to MLB, but seems to have figured it out, here’s hoping.
Congratulations on 1K subscribers, A & S. Have to give the Mets credit. They have maintained consistent play and are in good playoff position. Not so the Rays.😢
I think we need to view the rest of the season as “bonus exciting baseball “.. I do think they are talented enough to make the playoffs…but it was really unexpected by most accounts especially after April and May….so here we are.. bonus exciting baseball
After you recorded, Megill was awesome in Toronto. I trust him more than Blackburn, who I don't think should ever pitch vs. a team >.500. You are right about the starting rotation upcoming. It is not good. Blackburn is slated to pitch 3 times - PHL, PHL, ATL. Here is the remaining rotation(initials of starter's last name, M for Manaea): TOR P TOR M PHL Q PHL S PHL B WAS P WAS M WAS Q PHL S PHL B PHL P PHL M ATL Q ATL S ATL B MIL P MIL M MIL Q WC1 S WC2 P WC3 M
June 2019: The Mets honored the 50th anniversary of the 1969 World Series champion team with a series of events, including an emotional tribute that played during Saturday's game to remember the players that have died. The only problem is the Mets included Jim Gosger, 76, and Jesse Hudson, 70, in the video, but the two are still alive.
Assuming everyone else stays healthy, I think it's all going to come down on how well Diaz closes games. He's been erratic all year with his control. Hopefully he can stay dialed in the rest of the way.
It's tough, Ohtani getting 50/50 is an incredible feat; add 1.000 OPS & .300 AVG. Just incredible offense. Maybe because he is 1)a DH, and more importantly 2)he's not pitching. It could be the year he doesn't get it in lieu of Lindor, but the Mets must make the playoffs and Lindor will have to be big offensively in the post season(he had only 2 hits in the 3 game wildcard series loss to SD in 2022).
07/26/24 New York Mets designated RHP Shintaro Fujinami for assignment. After DFA'ing him, he is no longer on the 40-man roster, so tough to bring him up, and if they did he wouldn't be eligible for the playoffs.
If the Mets can survive the 10 with PHL & ATL, I like the last series vs. MIL. MIL has nothing to play for, is setting up their rotation for Oct wildcard series and will pitch 3 of their worst starters. In addition, ATL plays KC, who will still be playing hard in their wildcard positioning and lastly, AZ plays SD(1 of them is gonna lose at least 2 games).
Hey ladies you should do a collab with my friend Wardy. He is the best in pre and postgame and he awesome. Great analysis on the Mets season and what to do. And congratulations on making SNY debut in the Syracuse game. Really wish you guys the best
@@RichardFrey1975 Wardy's kind of a hype artist, I've never listened to an entire show of his because it's a constant onslaught of screeching hyperbole. These ladies hit all the right notes.

Thanks so much, Richard!! Thanks for being here since the beginning. What a season to start a Mets podcast. LGM!

Thank you, James!! Appreciate you from the beginning
Yes I saw you ladies on SNY it was awesome!
Could this season be anymore exciting? As a life long Mets fan these seasons are few and far between so lets enjoy it folks. LFGM!!!

Stern's does have the Midas touch. Way more turns to gold than misses.

Best Mets info hands down.
Thank you so much!
Torrens is top backup catcher in all of baseball. He throws out 65 percent of runners. He calls a good game and can hit

Here's my updated wildcard prediction.
#1 Mets
#2 SD
#3 ATL
The Mets have recently done a great job of honoring their old timers only since the Cohens took over. Before that, they did a great job of honoring the Wilpons’ childhood heroes the Brooklyn Dodgers.
This is very true
Mets yes do a great Job and was great they brought back Old Timers Day.

We also seem to win more with Alvarez catching even if he doesn't produce at the plate. Maybe it's an anomaly but his win % is money.

@@WhyMetsPod Well, Mets flip-flopped Peterson with Megill, so the rotation is in a better set-up now.

Wardy has nothing on these ladies! Don't get me wrong because I like Wardy too but I like these ladies that much more! LFGM!!
Let me add to that. Wardy does do daily shows so props to him.

It's the Mets! 98% chance of a horror show...At least they have a 2% chance to not break our hearts. Great job on this one.
Aint this the truth. LGM!
No disrespect to Lindor, but Ohtani's overall numbers are just otherworldly this season.
LFGM
Phillies will knock the Mets out of playoff contention
Sam don’t be a vientos hater
Otani can't field only hit but because Lindor is a Met he won't win. Which is nothing new if you follow Mets history.
LITERALLY A HORROR SHOW!
Vientos is the truth and the holy spirit
