    I've posted this online in other sites, at a steady 100kph with steady foot on the go pedal, it feels as if the brakes are being applied ever so gently, making for a very unsteady ride, awfully hard to explain, but I pointed it out to the salesperson who just ignored it, werid.....

      @ ask a service tech is probably a better bet. It could just be your pedal position is just on the line of not accelerating/decelerating. So the brake regen is constantly kind of there. Maybe just a tiny bit more pressure. Like an extra kW

    I stopped watching when you start talking about brake pads. This is powerful car. Xiaomi supposed to put normal brake pads that can stop this powerful car. There is no excuse and cannot be. If you would take Model Y brake pads you will see how small Xiaomi's brake pads are. If Xiaomi cuts corners with brakes, on what else they are cutting corners too. It says a lot about company who doesn't give shit about customers and their safety. Oh, and i don't want to start about seats that are braking on crashes, bye bye spine.

    I think you mean the turning radius is 4.9m, not turning circle. As a comparison, that is exactly the same as the turning radius of my tiny 2012 Kia Picanto Mk2. That is bonkers. The standard LFP battery pack would be my choice. The chemistry is relatively safe, and is best (and safely) charged to 100%, whereas the NMC chemistry on the long range pack is the chemistry that can self ignite, and charging it beyond 80% isn't recommended (so its claimed capacity and range are instantly less). Moreover, LFP has a 'bounce back' charge. If you are in danger of running down to zero before you can reach a charger, pull over and switch it off for 30 minutes or so. When you switch it back on, the range will have gone up. That is due to balancing (the range of the battery pack is calculated based on the weakest cell. If you stop, the cells re-balance and bring the weakest cells up quite a way, by swapping power from the strongest cells. Do it before the range drops below 10% though.

    • @ChinaDriven

    • @ChinaDriven
      @ChinaDriven 25 дней назад

      HAHA. They went bankrupt about 2 weeks after this. It was very strange. At the auto show there was a lot excitement from the brand, designer and CEO. No notes of trouble, although we knew the Jiyue 01 hadn't been selling well. But everything came crashing very quickly. Rumours started swirling about a two weeks after the auto show on a Monday. By Wednesday it was done. I think because it was a JV between two huge companies, Baidu and Geely, I think many thought there may just be a restructure of management and reinvestment. But they both pulled the plug.

      @@ChinaDriven Haha. Nothing to do with Baidu doesn’t want to burn through their billions of cash every year.

    • @ChinaDriven
      @ChinaDriven 25 дней назад

      But the cause of Jiyue's hardship all happened from the Jiyue 01 (which I reviewed over on the Wheelsboy channel) In that review I said that when the Jiyue 01 was announced the spec list was top-notch. But by the time they actually got it to market everything else had caught up or surpassed it. Their city ADAS never truly got going and was never competitive with other Chinese City ADAS from the likes of Huawei, Xpeng, Li Auto or even NIO. Because of that slowness their products just weren't as competitive when they got to market, meaning no one bought them, meaning the company didn't make a lot of revenue, causing Baidu and Geely to burn cash supporting a snail.

      Zeekr belongs to parent company Geely who also own and manufacture Volvos. So I think this thinking that China can only produce sub-par quality is out of date. There has been a dramatic change in Chinese domestic product quality in the last 5+ years.

But you can see in this video no snorkel and it was at least 1.4m...but we weren technically wading, we were floating??? I also assume that the engine shuts off and this is using the battery and electric motors only. Perhaps this is why they recategorised this as an emergency feature only and requires visiting a service centre after you do this. Chinese designers seem to be bolder than the rest of the rest. I just prefer to use my muscles when I open a door or should turn a chair. All these electrical devices can be a problem later on

      Powered doors on a minivan isn't exactly new. It also allows the driver to open and close them for passengers. But I hear you. However, I think nowadays these motors are more robust and gunna last a decently long time, but it is another potential point of failure.

    Why are lights purple?

      The lights around the Jiyue stand were all purple. Purple is Jiyue/Jidu's colour. Or at least it was. The company has gone under. Chances for it being saved are not looking good, and it took a nose dive very quickly.

    I recently did this but in the opposite direction as part of an 11000km road trip all over China in my es6. For me the road from shang gri la to xiangcheng and on to litang was the most scenic and interesting. Loads of rock slides and a damned reservoir in the valley was beautiful. I really hope the chinese government remove the restrictions on Tibet and make it possible for foreigners to take the 318 all the way to lhasa because I would guess futher into Tibet are the best parts of the 318.

      @@ecarpo3479 it’s scenic but you need to be a bit better prepared than we were. No Cell signal. No charge points. So if we got stuck might have been quite the hassle

      @ I’m not completely sure I took the same road as you for the whole part between Litang and Shang gri la. The road was no where near that bad when I drove it, maybe the landslides were mostly cleared (I did it in early November so probably a lot later than you) or it was a different road. I can imagine in an et5 it would be a lot more worrying. I had upgraded to a 100kwh battery and in my es6 had no real problem with the roads or finding charging along the way. It’s nice for someone who is terrible at filming or photography to see so many places I drove in beautiful cinematic footage. Brought back a lot of memories! 👍

      @ Litang and Daocheng/tasing the road is fine that’s the 227 national road. The yading to Shangri-la city there are a couple of routes. The DaoShang highway is full of rockslides, no cell reception

    All this expense on these swapping stations when batteries are becoming more energy dense and charging speeds are increasing seems pointless. I hope Nio will survive throwing away so much money on these halo projects as the cars are actually quite decent.

    • @ChinaDriven
      @ChinaDriven Месяц назад

      Energy replenishment is just one facet of battery swapping. I went through the 10 advantages NIO claim at 44:42 although there is an 11th as well which is new battery cell chemistries. We have seen the introduction of an LFP/NCM mix 75kWh battery and the introduction of the 150kWh semi-solid state pack.

    • @ecarpo3479
      @ecarpo3479 Месяц назад

      Most of these batteries often don't charge at advertised speeds, either the chargers aren't capable, too many people are using them, the grid can't provide the power, it's very rare to find chargers that actually charge that fast. The bigger benefit of battery swap for me is you don't have to queue for chargers, don't need to put up with finding chargers blocked or broken, don't have to put up with people cutting in line or fighting over chargers. Makes more of a difference if the weather is bad or youre travelling during holiday periods. Upgrading the battery is also very useful, most people don't need a lot of range most of the time.
