I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around what I would see with these things. I feel like I’d rather have something fully against my face as opposed to 4 tiny screens inches away from my face. I guess I just don’t get it.

Lasers are useful in CQB and against people who do not have NV, but out in the open a laser will most likely get you killed. Everyone and their brother has NV now. Even the Taliban thanks to Sleepy Joe. On top of that digital NV is approaching Gen 2 quality and would give someone the ability to see exactly where you are if you turn on that laser or illuminator. Asymmetrical warfare is getting more symmetrical

According to the BluBearing Solutions website, the CEO is a former Green Beret and former operator in "the Army's Special Mission Unit", which isn't the name of a unit, but a term that usually means Delta or another JSOC unit. Blake Cook is listed as the head trainer and assaulter, but the extent of his CBQ experience appears to be as a SWAT team member on the Fayetteville, NC Police Dept., where Fort Liberty (Bragg) is located. While many of the officers are former soldiers in the 82nd Airborne Division, I don't know any former SOF operators who are cops there, and it's a relatively small, backwater place. And police CBQ is far different from the level of training and execution and tactics used by Delta, SEALs, and Green Berets. I'm a retired Green Beret, and had teammates who were in Delta, and I do recognize the nonverbal signals he talking about.

In a perfect world, maybe. But the bad guy would have shot at the guy just standing there, at the right side of the doorway. as soon as he saw him he would have engaged with him. He wouldn’t have just waited for the leader to come in a clear the room first. Plus the guy in the poncho flagged the guy in the corner.

I got dinged for a safety vio for moving on a shot call in training. My NR1 man was moving off his wall to clear dead space behind a half wall, and I was supporting as the NR3 man. He called shot (wasn't a necessary shot call under the circumstances, but he called it), and I could see half the target he was about to engage, as I was half a step to his right. I couldn't identify a weapon, so I took the half step to my left to get shoulder to shoulder with him, identify the weapon, and support him in the engagement. I personally feel the safety vio and getting the boot was a bit harsh, but rules are rules. Under the circumstances, I knew who had called it, I knew why he'd called it, and I knew I wasn't moving into his line of fire. I wanted to support my team mate, and absolutely would have done it if we were in a live situation. Maybe that's the wrong call. Thoughts?

Sounds like a reasonable action on your part if that's an accurate description of events. As Kyle said, on "Shot!" everyone should freeze. But there are exceptions to nearly every rule, particularly in combat / a gunfight.
