I think I'm gunna just save up for these especially being that I'm currently overseas right now so I can't order them anytime soon anyway. I've always wanted rnvgs for simplicity but now they can articulate and have indv. pod shut-off and a very intuitive button operation. Really seems like the best of the dtnvs and rnvgs all in one unit
Awesome! But I'm saving my money while waiting for L3 to make a civ version of the BNVD-FUSED available to us. I figure if they made civ versions of the 31A's and the panos GPNVD's, they'll make one of the Fused!
Hey so do these freak out with the G24? I ended up buying a G24 Lite because I was told the magnet in the standard G24 can interfere with the auto on/off function of these since they use a pair of magnets and reed switches or Hall effect sensors in there?
Nah no manual gain...as I've heard people say, "you may want it, but you don't need it..." I've got a PVS-14 with a reasonably high FOM Elbit tube in it and frankly don't see much need to reduce gain. I've bought an RNVG-A (the ones above) with some high FOM L3 unfilmed and will be able to report back when I get them.
The FDE will be up on the site by end of day today. If you want to order a set just give us a call. Truthfully we thought we had it listed so we are rectifying that now.
there are either Hall effect (solid state magnetic field sensors) or reed switches (mechanical magnetic sensors) inside the central housing which respond to those magnets being in close proximity. Nice thing is there's no external contacts to corrode or gum up. Only downside I see is it's almost surely going to f'ck with the magnetometer in any thermal imager or even one of those PVS ocular overlay compasses if you're into that sort of thing.
Think we'll get an articulating and panning rnvg soon?

You are on the right track. We would definitely recommend these over the RNVG.

Are the housings going to be available?
They are available for preorder. We will receive our stock in the next couple of months.

PS - Gotta think the magnets will mess with the compass in your thermal, like an Iray RH25...
No issue with mine.
Do these allow for variable / manual gain?

how do you specifically get the fde version on your website.

Will the housings be available? And what is the price point?
It will be available, feel free to shoot us an email for a quote.
Manual gain or no?
Negative. AB NightVision does make the RNVG-VG (variable gain) but it is a fixed bridge system.
With RPO 3.0 ultralight optics, mine weigh as much as my DTNVS. If I run battery pack, its lighter than my DTNVS.
Man want so bad. Wish I could trade in my DTNVS’s 😬
We can do a housing swap easily. best bet is to sell your old dtnvs housing on the forums
@LicentiaArmsCo what's the process and cost for a hosting swap?
Nice!

How does the magnet make them cut off? Does DTNVG use the same mechanism just hidden under the plastic?

for the magnet cut off can you still move them some before the cut off mark or they don't really allow you to adjust that way?
