With the new Jace Reawakened -1 ability, can i plot my Locthwain Scorn (adventure) and play it as Virtue of Persistence the next turn? I heard that it should work in the reverse way: Plotting an adventure (>manacost 3) and play it as the more expensive 'main card' the next turn.

I think the goyf example is fair but extremely unsportsmanlike, like don't be a dick and force the player to look thru the field if you already know. Ruins the flow of the game

Question from someone who isn’t super familiar with MTG specifically. What could the other player have done differently if Bob didn’t say anything at all? It seemed like If he had any counter spells or whatever he can still add them to the stack after Bob’s target was declared. Like if Bob instead said, “I can’t win this turn… Oh wait, I can, I have a line,” could someone have done something to stop it?

Even under professional rules that would've not been a lie imho. Saying "i can't win this turn" is merely an assumption, as usually you don't know for sure what type of counterspells or other tricks your opponent may hold. I'd rather like to think the person crying about it acted proper pathetic - just cut your loss and move on.

I'm still kinda new to mtg, but I think I know the answer, would this stop spells that create tokens? For example skelvs hive?

The funniest part about that prisoner's dilemma card is that there's no incentive to ever pick silence. In the prisoner's dilemma thought experiment, the optimal play for any one-off instance is to defect. This is because defecting on the "final" prisoner's dilemma always produces the greatest possible reward, regardless of the opponent's choice. The only way cooperation ever enters the strategy is if you're expected to play many prisoner's dilemmas over an indefinite period of time. In other words, the strategy for this card "should" differ depending on whether you're in a tournament match or if you're playing with friends (who you'll be playing with repeatedly for an indefinite number of times). However, the fact you have to devote a deck slot to the card and pay mana for it changes the equation. Now, it's no longer just "an event that both players participate in," but rather "an event triggered by a player expecting some outcome." If you're playing this card, you *want* the 8 damage burn and consider the 8 damage to yourself as an acceptable cost. You will always pick snitch, because dealing 8 damage to your opponent for 3 mana is better than dealing 4 damage. At which point, the entire minigame becomes redundant, as if the opponent understands this too, the card effect can be reduced to "all players take 8 damage."

The ammount of time's i've said "I can just counter X card when you play it" without any counters in my deck and having them not play it in fear is starting to catch up to me huh.

If you believe every word your opponent says you just deserve the loss lol. LSV showed the importance of why misdirection of any kind be it verbal or physical in card games is worth everything.

MH3 seems quite underpowered compared to it predecessors. It is understandable that they don´t want to create anotehr MH2 that completely changed the magic landscape but it does feel like they took it a bit too far. How many cards will end up format defining or even playble from this set?

Can't believe Vexing Bauble wasn't here! Super powerful in Legacy and EDH. Really, really annoying to play against. The new MDFCs will see play in Legacy Oops! and maybe make Modern Oops! more of an actual thing as well.

Of note with Emrakul the Madness cost is 6 colorless. Not 6 of anything. It's a bit more narrow.

I can see where you're going with this, however I feel like this is an infinitely more situational beans, the old one triggered of, namely, force of will which was a bit part of it, the only really relevant cards this will trigger off of are Murtide, and the Myr Enforcer variants
