Oh, come one. Milch was put in charge of airlift only on January 15th 1943 while airlift started on November 22nd 1942 even before full encirclement of 6th Army was completed, which happened on the very next day 23rd. Until this point Richthofen (the commander of Luftflotte 4) and Fiebig in particular (commander of VIII. Fliegerkorps) were in charge of the airlift. Moreover, by January 15th pocked shrank by half and main airfield used for airlift Pitomnik fell into Soviet's hands on the very next day 16th of January. The next airfield was Gumrak but it was not prepared cuz of Paulus' HQ left it just only on the day before 15th of January. So in these circumstances Milch took over the command of a DISSENTER already being a fact. Even though he managed to double the supplies to the pocket which Richthofen and Fiebing FAILED to do for last almost TWO MONTHS.

Kluge was a war criminal too. He ordered to shoot all captured female russian soldiers. Why? They did not fit into his views about women: to be mothers and stay at home. To avoid his trial for his war crimes after the war he committed suicide. Shame on this war criminal.

Bock was injured on 3 May 1945, as his car was strafed by a Hawker Tempest from No. 486 Squadron RNZAF killing his wife, stepdaughter, and a friend. Initially the only survivor of the attack, Bock died of his injuries the following day. He was buried in a cemetery in Lensahn. So not a British pilot.

After the FGR was created and was going to be a member of NATO the German government pushed hard for clemencies for the senior officers of the Third Reich. So nearly all convicted of war crimes were being released.

From what I have read about this German , not nazi , General I was really impressed that he stood his ground on his beliefs . I also read that he told his soldiers to NOT slaughter civilians and probably POW’S also like the SS and I don’t know how many other soldiers under other Generals

After a while the RAF was little more than the auxiliaries to the PFLP, the group that trained them. They were also backed by the Stasi as well, which provided them with support, once that was gone they fell apart.

In China, Von Seeckt also led the Chinese Nationalists Army in Northern Expedition that defeated all the warlords that would be forced to join Chinese Nationalists Army. His tactics of making the army flexible and ready to be mobilized and change position on short notice, made the traditional army of the warlords obsolete. He also named the best successor, General Alexander Falkenhausen for China. Chinese Nationalists Army may use American equipment, but they still march in goose steps that the German root that were taught by Falkenhausen and his German advisors. President Truman absolutely hated it.

Excellent, concise, yet thorough!. At 2:44, camera does a close-up on Iron Cross 1st class on tunic, while audio says he's been awarded Iron Cross 2nd class, which is the ribbon in the tunic button hole. So camera should actually be doing the close-up on the ribbon.

03:14 Why have the swastikas on the Iron Cross medals been taped over so crudely? Their absence renders these medals inauthentic. Moelders would have worn them. Thank you for not trying to conceal them on the He-111. I do not advocate National Socialism, which failed on its own merits (or lack of them). I understand the German constitution forbids the use of the swastika under some circumstances, but I would be surprised to find they expected people relating aspects of WW2 history to whitewash them out of it. That would be misleading to your younger viewers because the swastika was in fact present pretty much everywhere in the Wehrmacht. 05:39 As I recall, the He-111 that crashed killing Moelders took off in a bad storm, despite misgivings from the aircrew. I believe they were pressured into flying. AKAIK this was not a defect in the aircraft's design or a failure of maintenance.

General Lindemann definitely looked sharp in Uniform. This tells a lot about the person themselves based on how they carry themselves in uniform and how they present themselves. No doubt Lindemann was a formidable German General during WWII commanding infantry and calvary units. Lindemann was one of the most senior General's in the German Army during WWII having also served in WWI (The Great War) in the infantry. His experience was invaluable to Germany and this was recognized early on (even before the war had started officially) and he was placed in charge of a Calvary unit against the Russians once Operation Barbarossa had started. Lindemann ended the war as a Commanding General in occupied Denmark and during the last month of the hostilities in Denmark, he cooperated with the allied forces and commanded operations to demobilize the German forces in Denmark and after that operation was successfully completed, Lindemann was then was taken into custody by the United States armed forces as a POW. He was held in captivity by the United States as a POW until 1948 when he was released without charges after he was initially transferred back to Denmark to stand trial for alleged war crimes in that country related to the war. Lindemann had cooperated with Allied forces at the end of the hostilities and testified in the Nuremburg trials, and he himself was never charged with any war crimes and therefore released in 1948 without charges. General Georg Lindemann settled in town of Freudenstadt West Germany after being released and died there 1963 at the age of 79.

Hi Justin. My name is Karen and Ernst Rohm is a relative of mine. He's my dad's great uncle, I believe. My dad's name is Ernest Roehm, he was named after him. I experienced the same growing up. My distant relative was not talked about openly in my family. If you saw a picture of my dad and his brothers, you'd know that they are related to Ernst because they all look so similar! I read your comment and decided to reach out to you. If you are related to Ernst then possibly we could be related? Just wondering. Anyways, blessings to you and thx for listening! ❤😊
