I sometimes wonder how the Weimar Republic survived for as long as it did, given the political and economic turmoil it had to endure. On the subject of the liquidation of Rhom and other SA commanders I knew that the SS carried out the purge, and that they settled some other scores, but I didn't know that the Reichswehr supplied the SS with arms and munitions. But, it makes sense. The gentlemen officers of the Reichswehr must have been horrified at the idea of Rhoms thugs swamping their army
After the night of the Long Knives, Winston Churchill and other intelligent European leaders knew Hitler and his Nazis were dangerous criminals and psychotics; they had to be put down.
At the end of ww2 the allies set up the biggest farce called the Neurenberg war crimes trials of top ranking Nazis.such a joke trying those without doubt of being guilty.conceits was to shoot them not try them.As usual the yanks over ruled it,like they always do.and with American involvement since 1945 she creates problems no end.The world is no safer now than it ever was. NATO U N ET AL all run by America .what America wants America gets. Our so-called special relationship is foto toasts at banquets on state occasions,it is a fallacy for vehemently gullible people.😊
@@lenwilkinson672 OK, Lenny. You're obviously still holding a grudge because of the mistreatment handed out to worthies like Julius Streicher and Ernst Kaltenbrunner.
How different things would have turned out had Hitler purged the military & not the S.A. The war probably wouldn't have happened until 45'-46', in which case who knows what would have happened. At heart however, (without the "Tom foolery") I am a Cultural Socialist.
I find the pre war years leading up to the invasion of Poland, very, very interesting.
Thanks Wolf.
WOW , Interesting ! Another great video pard !
Thank you! I didn’t know so many lives were taken during the night of the long knives. I’m learning so much from your videos!
