Hans von Seeckt was an influential military thinker and leader, instrumental in redefining the German military after World War I. His forward-looking ideas on military organization, combined arms warfare, and professional military education set the stage for Germany's military resurgence in the years leading up to World War II. While he is not as widely recognized as some of his contemporaries, his contributions remain an essential chapter in the development of modern military strategy.

In China, Von Seeckt also led the Chinese Nationalists Army in Northern Expedition that defeated all the warlords that would be forced to join Chinese Nationalists Army. His tactics of making the army flexible and ready to be mobilized and change position on short notice, made the traditional army of the warlords obsolete. He also named the best successor, General Alexander Falkenhausen for China. Chinese Nationalists Army may use American equipment, but they still march in goose steps that the German root that were taught by Falkenhausen and his German advisors. President Truman absolutely hated it.
