What a nest of vipers the early Nazi's were. What a tragedy that they attained power. It is incredible that what starts out as a small group of awful, violent people can wreak such havoc on so many millions of lives and alter the course of history. Though knowing the sequence of events, I still struggle to understand how they managed to do that.
You're blinded by propaganda if you don't understand how the NSDAP reached the hearts and souls of Germans and indeed many Europeans as well. While historically unique, the rhetoric and goals of the party are in no way confusing if one considers the result of WW1, the Russian Revolution, the rise of America as a geopolitical actor, among many other things.
