Snickerdoodle Cookies
Follow this step-by-step video to make Snickerdoodle cookies! Change the resolution to 1080p for a better viewing experience.
Tips:
1. Press the cookies down a little before the oven because they don’t spread as much as you think.
2. If you don’t have dark molasses, you can substitute with 1/8 cup brown sugar + 1/8 cup honey.
Ingredients:
⅓ cup cinnamon sugar
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon ground ginger
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup shortening or butter
1 cup white sugar
1 large egg
¼ cup dark molasses
This recipe makes 12-20 cookies (depending on the size).

I just made these tonight but I only had two Bananas, so I adjusted some of the ingredients (1/3 cup almond butter, 1/3 cup cacao powder) and it looked dry so I added in 1 egg. Also added in 1/4 cup Lilys no sugar Milk Chocolate baking chips. Baked for about 30 mins and they're delicious ❤ thank you!!

Additional questions... 1. You suggested replacing molasses with brown sugar. Equal parts? so 2 tsp brown sugar as well? 2. Does the baking pan where it is baked make a difference? :)
1. Here is the general ratio: replace 1 cup molasses with 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 2. Yes. If your pan is larger (i.e. more surface area), it will take less time. If your pan is taller (i.e. less surface area), then it will take longer. Hope this helps!
thank you for the reply. I was actually pointing at my second question the make of the pan as some have gray pans, some have aluminum pans, others use glass/pyrex pans. Anyhow...thank you for your reply! @@ChefMeow
Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding. From my knowledge, glass pans take longer to heat up but retains heat better. I think metal would be best because it provides a more consistent and even bake. However, I think you can make any pan work (you would just have to adjust the baking time).

@@jamesarden317The thing is dome ovens differ my friend. Some are pretty fast (2000w) when some are slow (1250w). You will have to know your oven to make adjustments. My old oven was high and baked a cake in less than 20 minutes when the one I got which was cheap (living on a budget) would bake a cake more than 40 minutes the reason I started baking cakes on 200 C to get it done faster. Your key is watch closely and check for doneness. 👋🏻

Thanks for the tip! I try to only have the original sounds in the background because some people find added music annoying, but I will definitely try it out for one of my future videos.
