I know you didn’t ask but if you plan on using the Collins kit for the 009, just stop and save yourself the headache. If you don’t already have the 009, may I suggest the R154? It works better with the stock rear diff ratios. The 6-speed ratios will be way off for the stock diff gear.

      So basically for daily driver the toggling up the line pressure to Maximum along with large 1’x2’ transmission cooler (alone no shims to valve body) after having done transmission filter and gasket is not recommended in my opinion. Maybe try the middle line pressure alone and see if that helps but for me going maximum just made idle rpm speed go too high like basically double so wherever my car cruises now at 1000rpm with it’s like just before 2000rpm on gauge……. That’s gonna waste gas and wear out clutches imo so I went back to stock line pressure and large oil cooler. I would be curious to see how it performs while shimmed and line pressure to the maximum, and maybe stock unshimmed set to middle setting.

    • @Knownworldwide
      @Knownworldwide 26 дней назад

      @@Schmitty_Luv2 I am unsure what you’re asking me. Shimming the transmission won’t affect idle speed. Autos that shift quickly will NOT wear clutches. Autos that shift slow or flare WILL wear clutches.

    • @Schmitty_Luv2
      @Schmitty_Luv2 26 дней назад

      @@Knownworldwide I ended up answering my own question in the post prior to this one so I figure I answer it on here for anyone thinking of just changing line pressure alone during a transmission filter and gasket maintenance replacement job……. It’s shifts slower when only line pressure is changed to maximum but coins are not added to shim the valve body. It’s as though the extra line pressure alone almost like a carburetor with too much fuel floods out the quick shifting out of it and adds so much extra oil like it’s pushing through converter or something and it’s raising rpm’s a significant amount to notice especially during warm up of the oil, but again that’s anecdotal evidence from my own anecdotal situation flat road no towing daily driver conditions so take it with a grain of salt.

      @@HIHGSCHOOL It’s going to be a very tight squeeze on the back bolts. But what I suggest you do is loosen the passenger side mount and the driver side mount and jack the engine up using the transmission bell housing. This should give you enough room to get all the bolts off. You might have to get creative on the back bolts to get them off. But trust me, you’ll be able to get them off.

I was going to go with the DODO racing adapter to run a GTE upper plenum on the adapter. That way you can retain the electric throttle body.

      First off, if you don’t have a stand alone ECU there is no way to control a boost controller like this one. What size injectors would you recommend for 8psi on a stock ge.

    • @Knownworldwide
      @Knownworldwide 2 месяца назад

      Currently I can hit 8psi with these injectors IF (and only if) your base fuel pressure is set to around 55-60psi. Must be running gasoline (none-85) This is what my car can do and has been doing since I installed the EMU black. My injector DC is near maxed out though. To comfortably run 8psi I would suggest at least 550cc injectors. This leaves you enough room to bump of power a slight bit.

    • @Knownworldwide
      @Knownworldwide 2 месяца назад

      TL;DR - it will be fine if you don’t launch the car all the time. So far it has been ok. I really wouldn’t suggest doing too many launches in the car above 6-7psi. At 5psi launching the car is OK (not bad, not great, just ok) on the 1-2 shift but beyond that the shift quality starts to degrade the more you turn up the boost. This transmission should be ok to hold around 400 wheel with an external cooler and shimming it. Roll racing is easier on it since the 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5 shifts are much firmer than the 1-2 shift is.
