Booklive isn't available in my region(Poland), and Bookwalker doesn't let you access the Japanese store from outside Japan on Android. I also already tried the all-ages side of DL-Site where I can add Japanese manga to cart, but it will be deleted when I go to checkout saying it's not available in my region. Do You have any other site I could try?

I really want to know what accent English people speaking Japanese have. Like Japanese speaking English is distinct from Spanish speaking English or Polish speaking English. So is the English speaking Japanese accent annoying, pleasant, easy to understand, comedic??

I loved the show going into it even without too much knowledge of Japanese history, but admittedly the show certainly feels like it expects you to know who all the characters going in so keeping track of everyone can be pretty tricky if you're not familiar with history.

I can confirm what you said about bilingualism. I speak 3 languages and yet my "official" native language (Russian) is the weakest of the three because I only used it to talk with my family and had never attended a Russian school (because I immigrated at age 6). I still think that I have an edge over the vast majority of non-native Russian speakers when it comes to things like accent and grammar, and yet my conversational fluency, vocabulary, ability to communicate complex ideas and so on is nowhere near the level of Russian speakers who attended Russian school and grew up in a fully Russian environment (and probably many non-native speakers who made an effort to learn the language as adults, like the example of your foreign professors). That goes to show you that "fluency" in a language is not a simple "yes" or "no" nor is it a single capacity but a group of largely independent abilities that can vary between people, even among native speakers. I think it is still true that even the most low intelligent and uneducated native speaker will have it easier in certain respects than non-native speaker, primarily in terms of pronunciation and grammar, particularly if the language has very complex grammar, as every language learner knows how difficult it can be to master these things to native-like perfection; but in other things like literacy, fluency, vocabulary a non-native speaker can absolutely surpass many native speakers.

こんいちはゆたさん。As an American who has lived in Japan (for five years from 1982-1987) and been back a few times since, I agree with you that this whole cultural appropriation idea has gotten out of hand. It seems that taking ideas to extremes is becoming a normal thing for people all over the world and, especially, in America. This is especially true given our current political climate. No one wants to compromise. No one wants to give an inch. It's really ridiculous and, I think, quite sad. I've always subscribed to the idea that moderation (but not mediocrity) in most things is the best course. Btw- I can't stand country music (with a very few exceptions).

Yea, she deserved to be cancelled. You can say you prefer tall guys without attacking a group of people’s human rights. I prefer tall guys myself, but all human beings have a right to be basically respected. So, I don’t think the issue with her statement was that she expressing preference for tall men but the claim that short men don’t have human rights. That’s basically I’m the same vein as sexism and racist, but pertaining to someone physicality.
