Well!!! We Finally Made it to Maple Grove Raceway!!!
As the title says. We made it to the racetrack. It wasn't without trouble though. I couldn't find my cage mount for my camera, so no in car footage. The track officials would let my crew past the burnout box, so we have some bad angles, and not a lot of footage. We did break some parts, but we are fixing it... The moral of the story is we made it!

Building Trailer Fuel Storage on The Cheap
Просмотров 49Месяц назад
I needed to build fuel storage before I could go to the track. I didn't want to spend a fortune, so I built my own. 3 Sheets of .060 thick 2X4 aluminum cost me $100. And I built a 2-fuel pail holder, a 2-fuel jug holder, and a 3-nitrous bottle holder out of it. If I had bought them from a retailer, it would have cost more than $600 after shipping. Hope it helps someone.

      No. With all of the weight on the car the slider bolt should be 3/4 to 1 inch from the back. In other word 3/4 to 1 inch of the slot should be showing.

      They don't touch at all, because the radius of the corners are different. I made sure of that before I did it. The bungie cord worked good. I just made a 249-mile round trip loaded down and they held everything in place.

    I just got one of these a couple of weeks ago and decided to bolt the square base flange directly to my concrete floor. This has resulted in an exquisitely rigid installation. I really don't understand what the "cross" components add to the equation besides something to introduce flex into the system. I have had no trouble breaking beads with the wheels flat on the floor, and they don't wobble around like I've seen many of them do on other videos.

    If you are looking top down on your setup, you should be rotating the duck-bill in the clockwise direction. Otherwise, that's some ingenious re-engineering. Thank you for some ideas I will surely consider when I make one from scratch. Those "HF" ones need so much 'Upgrading' out-of-the-box that I think just making one would actually be cheaper and faster, lol. Nicely done. Greetings from the Great State of Alaska. . . . . (Air Conditioning? . . . I have trouble keeping my garage warm!)

    • @CJdriftZ
      @CJdriftZ 7 месяцев назад

      Wrong, never use a duckbill in a clockwise direction!!! Always work a tire on in a counter clockwise direction, If you go clockwise you could damage the tire with the horn on the duckbill. This is much more common to see people miss using a tire machine with high profile tires because they are so much easier to mount. You can not use a duckbill clockwise on a low profile wheel setup. Counter clockwise is the only correct way to mount tires.

    I just bought one these tire changers and having watched many RUclips videos, I have noticed that the base components provided for bolting the unit down seem to be problematic in a number of ways, and so I decided to discard them and simply bolt the square flange at the base of the tube directly to the concrete floor. I used flush drop-in anchors so I could remove the machine when not needed, with no protrusions. Mounting in this way removes anything from the equation that can flex, and has resulted in an absolutely rigid installation. This mounting option also eliminates anything that can mar sensitive rims during bead breaking.

    • @jimkiernan2855

    Had one of the old red ones but lost the center post cap. Just bought one of the new 2023 black ones and the post cap is cocked to the side, rubbing the center post so you can’t just spin it on and off. The tab on top is just tack welded in four corners and you can see a gap underneath. The threaded rod looks all mangled and the welds don’t look complete… though it’s hard to inspect since they are under the tab and painted. Going to exchange this thing right away. There’s no way yours was like this if you added a duckhead without even a bearing. I mean, the duckhead would be moving up and down, in and out if it were on mine… tilted like the rings of Saturn. Completely unacceptable considering a new post cap was the whole reason I bought another.

    So we'll come across your RUclips channel. I watch the video of you talking about the history of the Camaro. But as iviewer I think we might need to see a little bit more of drag racing working on the cars and a whole lot more videos. That might help you get more subscribers. Something to think about anyways. Would love to see more of that car in action

      Thanks for watching. I would love to have racing content. I still need to do some testing, but unfortunately my local track closed its doors 2 weeks ago. We plan on trying some other tracks about 2 hours away. Might even try to tune the Nitrous on a dyno... Thanks for the input.

    This almost happened to us at Thunder Valley in Noble ok this last year. We still worry about what can happen in the future.

      I would worry too. You're lucky it's still there. I think Atco's demise really came down to a bad owner... I hope you guys keep your track. To many are closing lately.

    Very sad to see it go as someone who had grown up with the track, I was born in 56 learned to drag race there. Raced at all three places E town, Atco and Island. Island is a great track short shutdown area, but it's the only game in town.

      Yeah, it really sucks! I'm going to have to regroup, and pivot off of this... E-Town closing was really bad, but I totally didn't expect this... Thanks for watching.

      Thanks... We just have to pivot and regroup. I'm never going to quit.

    Funny story about atco when my son wanted to go racing with daddy I told him when he didn’t need diapers anymore he could come along and I never seen a child potty trained so quickly it’s sad I had to text him last week they were closed

      That's an awesome story! The first time I went there was back in 94 or 95. I was still in high school... At least we will have memories of the place. I don't know what the next generation is going to do.

      I totally agree. I've seen him yell at people for no reason. He got nasty with me once, and I have no idea why. There are a bunch of people on Yellow Bullet Forum who got banned just for asking questions. Huge Dick! but I still went there because it was close... Thanks for watching.

    How do you have a bad anything when it started and ran with the blaster2 i don’t care if it’s not the right coil,speaking of all the stuff they said was bad? I will say I bought a new coil and assumed my problem was fixed but it was crap and I took it out of the package so I know it can get frustrating

    • @jimkiernan2855
      @jimkiernan2855 11 месяцев назад

      I know right! it was so frustrating, and confusing. It went against everything I thought I knew. It ran with 2 different blaster coils, and wouldn't run with 3 different HVC2 coils. And in the end they didn't have a clue.
