Hi Jim, Matt here. Cool deal on you starting your channel. I started my RUclips channel a long time ago but I just do not have the time for content. Last time at the track was 2018 but I'm really gearing up for this year. I like your Camaro. I never liked the 1st gen Camaros but always loved the 70-73 then the 76-79 and the 3rd gens are cool too.
I'm a Ford guy and race my 70 Cougar. I built a 359C. Flat top - 11.13 compression with the TF 225cc heads - TF intake and Custom solid flat cam from Bullet Cams. Nothing to crazy just 239/243@.050 .611/.605 lift. Dynoed 521@6300/453@5600 at crank. N/A of coarse. Runs great. Best 1/8 times so far are back to back 7.24 & 7.26 both at 95mph both with 1.65 60ft. C4 trans with 3000 stall and 4.11 gears and Hoosier Quick Time Pro 27x11.5x15 out back. Calvert split mono leafs and Catracs bars. It definitionally needs more stall and I have a 5000 my buddy built me but no time yet. During Covid I did some suspension work so I want to get that redialed in before I hit it with the new converter.

Thanks. I never really liked the second gen Camaros. Lol but it definitely grew on me over the years. I originally wanted a 68-73 Nova, or 64-69 Chevelle to race, but those were hard to come by back then, and even harder now.
Your car sounds killer. I would bet there is more left in in. There is a lot to be said about suspension work. Wheel separation, shock travel speed, and controlling the front end, can go a long way on the track.

@@jimkiernan2855 Oh ya there is definitionally more in the engine. Originally I was gonna build a 408C stroker with a solid roller cam. As you know just the cam - lifters and rockers are expensive and on top of it the stroker kit. So basically I ran out funds and used the stock crank, Eagle Hbeam rods and SRP flat tops. Since Clevelands have thin cylinder walls and I did not Hardblock it, I just wanted something over 500hp N/A and power in by 6500 hat will last a while and be fun. Brent Lykins spec me the cam and I hit my goal.
I bought my TF 225cc heads back in 2012 from TEA. Brian Tooley actually took my phone order. I told him I will be building a 408c with a solid roller and all he said was "I will cnc these and you wont be disappointed I promise" About 4 months later they showed up and here is what the flow card read. I know all flow benches vary a bit but I would say mine are pretty stout and definitionally have more in it.

Heck, with my 359 dyno numers now, thats with an untouched TF Track heat intake and no carb spacer. Carb I have is an original (pre Holley owned) 750 Mighty Demon and this carb is what my engine made all 13 dyno pulls with. Im thinking of getting a different new carb tough. Cant decide between Prosystems or ATM. Have you seen the new Edelbrock 4150 carb - I cant stand Edelbrock anything but this carb looks cool.

Those are nice numbers... When we were getting my Big Block together Covid hit, so we had a hell of a time getting parts. We couldn't even get my LS on a dyno... I would consider a new carb for sure. I replaced my old junky Dominator for a brand new one, and my car runs a lot better, it picked up everywhere. There are a lot of carbs on the market these days. I see The Old Mans Garage channel is having good luck with ATM, but I don't have any experience with them. I do know I wouldn't use Edelbrock no matter who's design they stole LOL.

@@jimkiernan2855 Ya Im glad my engine was finished/dynoed and I put it in 2013. I love my Demon carb and they were the shit back then but for sure some of the newer ones are better.
I sub to Old Mans Garage and watched the ATM deal go down too. Nice stuff. You see the latest wheel dyno video of his Malibu? Something on that dyno was definitionally off cause it said his 421 on motor was putting down over 700tq at the wheels. Not sure how that is cause when he dynoed it at Bobs shop it was at 560tq or so at crank. Oh well lol, I love watching his channel. They will be down here in April for an event at Yellow Belly with Jimmy Dale.
So what 4150 carbs have you played with or had success with? I like the Prosystems stuff - ATM looks great???

Yeah, I saw that the dyno numbers were weird. Looks like he has to build a new one though. He just blew up his 421... I've only messed with Edelbrock, basic Holley, and I have an AED custom built 4150 on my LS with only dyno time. Mostly we mess with 4500 carbs.
