Cool deal man. I didn't think to sandwich the metal between the wood like that. To make curved pieces I usually made relief cuts as needed and welded as needed.
I'm glad I showed you something new. Hopefully you can use it in the future. I used to do the same thing cut and weld. Then I started researching, and buying old books that are no longer in print now, on how to work metal.
