Would an "ARPNVG" be something useful? Or would it be dumb? How much of a diffence do you notice between something that is bridged, articulating, and panning? FOV increase? Are there any binos that offer articulation and panning? I'm thinking of the pano bridge but that's to mount 2 pvs14s. Wondering if any manufacturers have thought of building a complete unit like that...?

Can my auto gain rnvg housing be turned into manual gain?

What is the best thermal clip on w nv set up? Should I just go straight thermal? I'm looking to get into nv/thermal so I'm a noob, but want a great shtf set up, I'll use sometimes for hunting, but mainly to practice shooting in dark.

I'd imagine a big enough difference is that you know the GPNVG has gone through rigorous testing to do what it claims to do in terms of durability and exposure to elements etc, also longevity, however, 99.9% of the people who would be considering buying the APNVGs will not actually come across any of these conditions or actually have the repetition where such things would even matter...

dtnvs is alot cheaper now the mg version is around 2k amd 18-- for the normal dtnvs depending where u buy

Manual gain is cool if you have time to fiddle with it and your surroundings aren't changing constantly but it's not all sunshine and rainbows.. For active situations, settings that change lighting often, someone who isn't practiced in adjusting it quickly, settings where readiness is important, you want the tube to adjust by itself. It's great for observation and non critical activities but if you turn that thing up or down it's going to stay there until you have time to mess with it and you may need your hands... The ideal device would have both settings but correct me if I'm wrong, currently devices with manual gain don't have auto modes.
