Thanks for the videos you do... this particular video helped me decide to go with an RVM-14 from yall for a quality lower budget build as intro to NV. After having it for less than a week I am very much enjoying it, has lived up to expectations. The Noisefighter MAX-14 arm is currently working 'okay' with modding the Tanto adapter included with it (chopped off the ends so it would work on the RVM-14) but not ideal. Do have the actual RVM-14 adapter Noisefighter recently released coming in which should work much better. Just waiting on moon phase to get near new moon to see what it really looks like in low light. The stars, mountains, and clouds at night in the high AZ desert with at least half a moon are pretty spectacular to look at with gain dial near minimum.
I have an RVM-14 and love it! One important note: the RVM-14 j-arm will only let you use ONE eye. I got one and it seemed very solid and more dependable than the AX-14 j-arm, but the rvm arm only let me use my right eye. I'm cross eye dominant (right handed, left eye dominant) so my pistol red dot always goes to my left eye, but I shoot rifle right handed.
@@bobbybeyer2127 Yes the AB proprietary mounting arms are for just a single side. If you want a single arm that can be used right or left get the Noisefighters MAX-14 J-arm with the RVM-14 adapter. It's a rigid 7075 aluminum arm that only weighs 1oz. Also costs less than getting two of the RVM-14 specific side arms.
It would be nice to show this illuminator vs std PVS vs some typical small ir led helmet task light from Streamlite. Also runtime differences using iluminator vs keeping it off.
Hi, is the eyepiece for the RVM-14 the same as the PVS-14's? Planning to use an RVM14 for astrophotography and need to make sure the eyepiece thread is the same. Thanx!!
What are the cons of using dual monoculars/J-arm vs dual housings? I can think of some like 1 button functionality and weight. As someone whos going to be building their own nods, this seems like a more viable cost effective option to see if I can do it without breaking anything lol
collimation will be tough to achieve in most cases. However, with the avm bridge, the proprietary dovetail interface should provide a repeatable lock up meaning collimation and return to collimation should be possible unlike every other bridge on the market (Minus the daisho) I forgot to cover this in the video.
I sent the package 💯 it’s an actual life size sculpture of kevs balls… I thought it was a nice gift… surprised you couldn’t tell what it was from the dimensions of the box😔
@@allensparks6512 For real! I'm a simple man. LOL. I weigh all my gear in ounces and pounds like most people! Grams is too hard for my little brain to convert in my head! LOL.
@customnightvision I can't speak for every customer, but in doing research for my first unit, I must have used a grams to oz calculator a few hundred times lol
Lol I love your responses, I love the loook of the office, I love this channel
Thank you! we appreciate your views and comment.

Thank you for the info.
So to clarify, if you wanted to have the choice to use the device over either eye, you’d need to purchase two separate arms?

These housing overviews are super helpful. Will we be seeing anything from yall on the Rix RNV 14/RNV 31?
Not sure yet
its not a far enough departure from the Jerry 31 imo.
Thumbs up just for the intro.
😂
Thanks lol

the illuminators are inconsequential to me.

Yes, it is
Best night vision company hands down.
thanks dude.
I wonder if it's worth upgrading from my tanto 🤔
If you want manual gain
ehh idk man id stick with what you have unless you just want manual gain.
@@michalis75
Depends if you care more about weight savings or manual gain and a little more durability.

Hey guys, will you be making a video on the new Rix RNV-31's?
maybe. I mean its pretty much a Jerry 31...
@@customnightvision roger that. I didnt think the Jerry had a built in illuminator like the Rix.
