CNV hit the nail on the head with these reviews. I recently decided to be a test dummy against the Reddit overlord’s opinions. I ditched 2 very high spec Photonis Echo 14’s for the Jerry 31s. Why? I couldn’t justify having a $6k+ setup that was almost 2lbs for being an idiot in my backyard and stargazing. So I pocketed a few bucks and got the 31s which are very lightweight and feature rich. The NVT tubes are good for my use case, but might not hold up for others who are using their nods in a professional capacity. For me though, they’re *close* to the echos but obviously not as good based off specs. My only complaint with the 14/31 is the glass, which is mentioned in the video. The chromatic aberration in certain higher light situations or with reflective objects is very, very apparent. Outside of that, the glass performs well enough. These units, while shit on constantly by dudes with $10k+ setups are great entry level nods for people like me who just want to have fun for *cheap*. If anyone capable is reading this, go ahead and design some new glass or slip on filters for these and a killing is ready to be had.
Or just the green Phosphor J-31! :) The chromatic aberration is only on White Phosphor. And why you didn't got the 31 with NVT-5 tubes instead? These are XR5 tubes and have 30 SNR & 64 resolution Its just 3OO bucks more. The full system for 3.3k instead of 3k for NVT-4...
@@aesthetic8780 would’ve loved to get it with different tubes but CNV and a couple other spots are the only ones in US that carry them currently and they come complete with the non auto gated tubes.
The hard truth is that even the lowest of low gen2 with thermal fusion will always spot the highest end binos first. For elitist, that is in fact very hard truth to swallow, because people can have cheaper set up and have an advantage over them.
@@rdbroyal6901for sure. Lower end Gen 2 units like these are going to fill a huge gap in the market and that is people wanting to get some skin in the game at a low cost. There really isnt much these can’t do that your average NVG enjoyer needs in a unit.
Got a elbit high spec pvs14 in 2020 when tnvc had a 4th of july sale bringing these to market through night goggles. Price was 2250$ Man how i wish i would of gotten a send 14 then. And man its hard to convince others to get nv. I still only shoot with nv alone 😂
Hey Kevin, I've seen some anecdotal claims that the green phos Jerrys have better clarity and less chromatic aberration compared to the white phos. Can you shed any light on this? Any reason why this would be the case? A brief side by side comparison looking through each would be awesome to see.
Did you say they mount to rhino mount mounts just fine? I have my old ach plate and rhino mount from the Army and was curious if the Jerry 14 or 31 would work with it.
Called their customer service number, rang about 10 times, I hang up without leaving a msg. I get a call back less than 3 minutes, even got a 5% discount. That is decent CS if you ask me.
@customnightvision You are right, decent, was a poor choice of wording. It was actually great customer service. Decent just happens to be a word I use alot.
Hold Up How is this on your website for $2200 but it's on Cold Harbours website for double that price? Genuine question. I watched their video about J-14's and they doubled their prices over night because the video got some traction. Immediately turned me off
@@aesthetic8780 The price for the same product on the CH website even when exchanged from CAD to USD at checkout is still significantly higher than this dudes price

Have you found any information on this? I can’t seem to find a straight answer too.

is it bayonet or dovetail?
@@customnightvision uhhhh, it's a chunky boy j-arm.
I have the same question, i have a rhino 2 and dont want to spend the money on a new dovetail. Would the Wilcox J-Arm be compatible with a Rhino 2?
Why don’t you use or like Cadex mounts? The design and customization/adjustability seem top notch.
My thought. Cadex are imo the best mounts on the market !
I don’t have any issue with them at all. We just don’t sell them.

CNV/Kosher is a joke. Zero customer service and I was forced to do a chargeback almost three months after ordering and in stock item. F these guys.
