Bikes are NOT built with the mechanic in mind. For instance: To fix a gear box you have to remove the whole engine! Crazy.

So when you clean the carbs initially did you put a full service kit on them or just change the float bowl gaskets ? I’m asking as I have just picked up an 1100 had supposedly the calves cleaned, but I’ve got a few leak from somewhere but speaking to the bloke that cleaned them he didn’t use any new parts

Actually you CAN back up the air box by unbolting it then pulling it back with a ratchet strap. You’ll gain a centimeter or two, which is huge in this instance.

Very well presented.. I'm thinking about using the fork caps from a zxr1100 on my sprint st to allow the separate adjustment of damping and preload.. Either that or just use emulators without cartridge. I liked your light heated jokes and humility. Very down to earth to watch. I am rebuilding my forks for the first time. You're probably right but in the last years the cafe racer scene changed and it for sure no longer look the same but is in my opinion cool as well... I personally like both, classic and custom and I don't mind mixing both styles 😉

Sehr schöner Umbau. Bist in irgendeinem Forum, wo man den Bau verfolgen kann? Grüße

Thank you, I'm not in any forums but you can see some pics of the bikes on my Instagram that has the same name as this RUclips channel ☺️

@@brucesmotorcycleshop3729 thought german was your native language!? I'm interested in your swingarm and fork/front parts. From which bike are the parts? I built a more classic sc01 ala hookie, but have nearly 2 more sc01 in parts to built a second one but more "modern" style like yours.

@@tom_hptng Hi, I'm actually French 😅 I live in Germany since a while so I can speak German but writing takes me much longer than writing English... The front end in my bike is from a Yamaha R1 Rn09 and swingarm is from a Yamaha Fazer Rn06 but I would not recommend using this swingarm as it's too long, I have an XJR 1300 swingarm at my shop and I'm considering swapping at some stage as it is 30mm shorter and will rectify the long wheelbase. However there is quite a few options out there, everything will require some mods so just pic what you can find and what you like and work with it. There is some CB900 FB pages where you can get some inspiration 😊 hope this helped. Good luck with your projects.
