Something about city boys comfort first ethos that has. Caught my eye since I’ve been in Japan!
Here, in Brazil, we call no collar shirts de "gola de padre", which in a literal translation means priest's collar.
I'm here from beepworld's mention and i absolutely LOVE this vid. (i've been thinking abt this topic for the past forever lol)
@@margaridavelhinho1478 that’s so cool! where did she mention me?
Yesss, intuitive dressing is the BEST !
That denim set!!!
Those LR3 pants are insanely good!
Those Chez nous pants are fire
omg you are exactly what I need on RUclips. Thank you so much 🙏
an all black fit never fails❤
Wow you picked up some amazing finds. The birthday trousers are absolutely stunning. Also your godmother sounds like the best shopping companion. Happy Belated Birthday!
the hakama pants are so good
I’m glad you had a great time! I think you should keep both pairs of khakis, ones a rectangle and ones an oval. I love that denim jacket and empathize with the mild struggle you endured to get it 😂. For some reason I didn’t like looking at the texture of the denim set, which is crazy because I know I’d love it irl + I didn’t get the same feeling from the rest of the store pics. It would be so cool if you did a styling vid with those LR3 pants post-hemming!
@@WarmZZy thank you! Good idea
Pls don’t let him take the button off it’s so cute PS I wish I had your godmother lol
This was so great! I had so many light bulb moments watching this. It is incredible, how sometimes the most obvious observations have be put into words by someone else for us to see them. Thank you, great channel.
I love the way you dress and think about clothing, even though it’s not quite my style. I love the Mapoésie shirt, I’ll definitely visit that store when I’m in Paris in February…
I bought a Topologie utility tote during a layover in Hong Kong after realising the canvas tote I’d brought with me from home wasn’t going to do me any favours on the life admin/organisation front. I’ve traveled with the bag through nine countries over the last 12 weeks and it’s truly been a lifesaver - it’s helped me carry a decent amount of essential travel junk while keeping it fairly well organised. Such a ridiculously good bag
Do you have any plans to travel to Japan?
Not at the moment! I’ve been twice already in the last 6 years.
@ oh amazing! Would you have any thrifting advice for Tokyo or know where to find it?
uh madrasa means school madras is a city where it comes from :p
holy shoot. i got so annoyed by u in this video wahaha. stop saying partner, are u guys partners in a firm? buys 700 euro pants, talks crap about Husbands. "If you want to buy taste." Maybe you should refine your manners. Just because a brand doesn't have a size for you, it doesn't mean they have an issue! Maybe you're just not for them. You're so entitled. Not everything revolves around you.
@@the_lobster hi! Partner is a legal designation of a relationship here in NYC, we are also engaged to be married but I personally find saying fiancé annoying lmao. Even if we weren’t legally partners, I’m not sure why that word should bother you. As for my lighthearted opinion on Husbands, you are completely within your rights to disagree with it, but no need to get nasty (and then lecture me on manners). Someone else disagreed with me on that point in the comment section and we’ve had a very fruitful discussion! Finally I give my personal experience at the stores so other customers know what to expect, the shopping guide is meant to provide insight for other shoppers who may be interested in visiting some of these stores!
700 euros for those crappy generic pants? you what. you see these all over in japan
currently watching this on the metro whilst visiting japan on my way to a pokemon centre and a 2nd street
if you’re in london soon, i really enjoy Allen Reji’s selection of predominantly Japanese vintage clothes - a lot i think you’d appreciate. very knowledgeable too!
French man watching from Cambodia ! Your french is pretty good Percia !
I love this style. Do you have any recommendations for size places that are more size inclusive?/ plus size options?
i’m here from derek guy
@@andic1535 hi here from Derek guy
the laugh after you stepped up on the chair wearing the denim jacket,,, relatable lmao
she’s getting all the lemaire goodies 😭 this jumpsuit silouhette looks amazing as is and on you as well!
Band or granddad collar is the term for that 45R shirt. And wow, love the volume on those LR3s trousers!! Also: is the uppermost art on the wall from Tillie Walden's On a Sunbeam??? Her work is so beautiful.
@@censa1428 yes!
I m so inspired to do something like this since I have an affinity to travel and shopppng pre owned. This is so beautifully done. ❤❤❤
the second pair of khakis fit you SO WELL!
Loved this video! As a middle-aged woman who is rather set in her (mostly rather preppy) ways, I really enjoy your perspective and sense of joy for clothing.
Topologie is actually huge in Japan! Also, new sub here. Love your stuff!!
there you go ! the nose knows
I love your taste in pants, every single pair are amazing! I think different silhouettes count as different enough, maybe personal preference dictates that one design element is more important for you, but to me the two khakis and denim jackets feel different enough to provide some variety.
I loveeee these 11:43
Did you ever try personal color analysis? It’s big here in South Korea.
She looks like an autumn for me
I have not! For I fear nothing would be able to sway me from the colors I feel comfortable in
That denim set is instantly my fave of your outfits. The Boomers _do_ ask for discounts and get ‘em ha ha
the chair is cute
Happy birthday!
Chez Nous -"our house"
Hm, I am not entirely with you on the Husbands thing. So for Bonnegueule, I am with you on the "not quite interesting enough" part, but for some basics, they were at one point in my life a good deal. When the clothes were on sale or less expensive before the Ukraine war. As for Husbands, it's an entirely different ballpark. I would say I am very inspired by the same stuff Husbands is and it is true that you can find some of the things second hand. But less so than you think if you are not in NYC or Paris. Their style is very 70s inspired but in great quality. It's genuinely not that easy to find. It's not just a trouser, it's a slight flare high waist trouser and I genuinely spent months trying to find one and then had to bite the bullet, save up and get Husbands. It's possible, but they definitely have a way stronger aesthetic and cultural referencing (and quality) than more general stores like Bonnegueule or Fursac.
@@Calpinable I appreciate your input so much! I’m certainly not so familiar with the brand but I do think they have beautiful offerings. I think it just doesn’t align with what I’m looking for at this point in my wardrobe
@@percish Husbands has a 1960s - 70s tailoring vibe (slim silhouettes with flared trousers) that sets them apart from everyone else. They're doing cool stuff and it's worth looking deeper into that brand. Love your channel!
@ thank you!
@ I think there’s also a chance that the brand just doesn’t work for me or my partner’s body types and that’s what I was picking up on
I feel like Husbands is one man’s vision of Paris expressed in clothing. It’s fairly traditional, the shapes, fabrics etc, and I don’t think it tries to be much more than that, which I respect a lot. I saw the founder Nicolas Gabard on the metro one time, most stylish mf I’ve ever seen, extremely nonchalant, wearing high heel boots in a crowded sticky mess
lowkey think it’s a flex that i got the same pants from lr3 as you lol
Eat Dust is amazing too
Those pleated CDG khakis look awesome on you
Thank you so much for this video ! I've been following you for a couple of months now and I'm so glad seeing you recommend places to shop in in Paris as I'm french and trying to buy as much as I can in second hand stores, and feel frustrated to buy online and not really knowing what will actually fit me, etc.
@@sauceialisme1330 buying used in person is definitely ideal 🤝
this is perfect i’m literally going to paris in a few weeks
is this how i found out you have a famous instagram?
Big time haul. Love your style!
Cool video. Like the content. 700 euros for one item of clothing is a lot of money for me. Maybe it becomes worth it with the cost per wear count. It has to be really special at that price, I think. I bought a leather jacket for £800 because of it being a lifetime item & for a more personal reason but I don't think I'd spend much more than £200-300 on future purchases
@@Sam------ absolutely! I’m considering wearing it for my wedding so I think that makes it worth it 💗
@percish a grail item then. Good answer.
Yey 34 minutes let's gooo
Ironic that the store is called "gaijin" but sells Japanese clothes, since gaijin means "foreigner." And some foreigners in Japan feel that the word is insulting, though it doesn't really bother me. The "jin" part is pronounced "jeen."
omg the second pair of pants!!!
also love how you made like 7 cute outfits just trying stuff on in sequence
@@mare_yams haha thank you I just kept changing everything out lmao
